Xikers deserves that top tier spot fs. There is nothing missing from the rapline as far as I can tell, they hit every point and they do it amazingly well. They do not sound like brand new rappers, they sound well seasoned. It seems like KQ trains and coaches their groups thoroughly but still allows some individuality, and they aren't afraid of debuting with an explosion, no dipping their toes in with safer sounds to ease their way into the industry and rhen build from that. It's gonna be incredible watching their growth

I understand the frustration about the SVT's rapline not rapping enough coz not only they write their own stuff but they also have such a wonderful mixture of members who do both rhythmic and fast flow rap AND THEY DON'T USE THOSE SKILLS ENOUGH to their advantage. Like you can't even blame their producers or company or sumn coz they handle their own work😭The way I would actually kill for them to release rap heavy songs like their unreleased ones like Madness Maxed Out and Un Haeng Il Chi.

Monsta X rap line is underrated but I do think that they're truly the best in Kpop. Their styles are different but they complement each other so well. The fact that Jooheon and I.M are also producers makes it better. SAMBAKJA & NO COMPETITION are two of the best performances of Jookyun 🔥

I love how the comment section on BTS' part disagrees but can't do anything about it. Because it's obvious, if you didn't put BTS rapline in the top tier, the only logical conclusion is you really haven't dove into their rapline and just based the ranking on dumb stereotypes, preconceived notions & oblivion. Dreamcatcher has kinda silently moved away from rap in their songs. Dami has always been solid and I hope the producers will trust her with a pen more in the future. Both lead rappers, Gahyeon and SuA, essentially quit rapping to improve vocals and as a vocal lover I'm glad but that puts them more on the Mamamoo end of the idol rap spectrum. Few 3rd gen girl groups have a rap line and have one main rapper. It sucks bc I really love it when rappers trade verses, like I.M. and Joohoney, and provides interesting dynamics and opportunities for things like melodies and key changes.

having billlie and cravity as my ults (two very unrelated groups) and seeing you compare their raplines is actually wild 😭 i dont think ive ever seen them mentioned in the same conversation lmao but as a hardcore belllieve and luvity i 100% agree with the placement and have thought the same myself tbh. billlies raps always have me shocked by their tone and theyre actually so impressive, cravitys rapline sounds great in some of their songs but they never really go out there in terms of flow. some of their best sounding raps are in songs like adrenaline and ready or not, which are very vanilla raps that dont play around with anything technically. but billlie's rap in a songs like gingamingayo and lionheart left me thinking more than just "yeah thats good", it was like VERY interesting how they annunciated their syllables, the tone they used, it felt so much more like rapping than just talking fancily.

if mamamoo was included in this list, which tier do you think they would be in? i know hwasa barely raps anymore, it's mostly moonbyul nowadays (some relatively recent songs where they rapped together were Hip and My Star, but even that was like 4 or 5 years ago) but i feel like they used to be a legit rapline back in their debut days and even up until Red Moon era. they have pretty distinct voices and i feel like they had good chemistry and bounced off each other well. i'm curious as to where you would place them.

The exo's was right. Rap is not only about aggressive flow, but you have to know how to ride the beat and set up the mood for the flow and most importantly a rap that COMPLIMENT the song, whether it is a slow or an upbeat song. The let me in is a very very good example of chanyeol's rap. The Promise (2014) by exo is also my fav of chanyeol's rap.

But the fact that they're on top tier and with top vocals only really shows how powerful EXO is musically. 12 years and still one of the best. ❤

One thing that might be worth noting is that while YG does in fact recruit talented female rappers (Asa from BM is Japanese, and as a native Japanese speaker, switching to Korean is NOT easy at least imho) and even train them well, the agency absolutely under no circumstances will let their female rappers write their lyrics, rhymes, or even figure out their own delivery on official tracks that will be on album. They can suggest changes after midway through their contracts, but that is it. Other than that allowance, the girls have to follow a rap guide and memorize the exact delivery, syncopation, rhythm, words to emphasize, and even the facial expression to deliver it with so that it matches the concept and choreography the agency has envisioned for the song. For BP, they have had times where raps have been re-recorded after the choreography is finalized so that the choreographed gestures match with the exact spot in the flow that they want when it's performed in the context of a music show. The only place they are allowed to cut loose is concerts and covers. This has been a pretty big issue for YG and why they bleed artists after their initial contracts are up. They have trained these girls to be self sufficient as rappers, to write their own bars, experiment with their flow, etc. as trainees only to take it away entirely after debuting. Their vocalists go through a similar ordeal with learning instruments and creating their own harmonies and ad libs to be met with the same situation. I really hope they loosen the reigns with Babymonster, and now that BP has the power advantage over YG both individually and as a group, I'm really looking forward to seeing what they put out. The talent and training are there and have been there. And they have 7 years of stifled creativity that they can finally let loose. It just irks me with YG the most because as an agency, they try to pass themselves off as the most hip hop adjacent all while giving their artists less freedom in those areas than even JYP or SM unless they are self-producing, and that's only happened with their boy groups so far. 😾

oot there's quite a new kpop boy group, its been 1 year since their debut and interestingly they are virtual artist name plave, they are one self producing idols, they make their own songs and choreography, so 5 members with 3 producer lines and 2 choreographer lines, one of the producer is eunho, he writes his own raps, produce songs, directing, and singing, except dancing lol. his song is called lit and he does cover too like Violet (Connor Price ft. Killa cover) and veni vidi vici by zico. i've seen your videos before about soyeon and i thought you explain it really well like an expert so i would really like to know what your thoughts on this virtual artist that could rap and sing
