This bill is absolutely ridiculous. I fly drones, both recreational and commercial. My business is a year and a half old, and I've invested a lot in drones and everything else to get it up and running. This would cripple my business and would drastically affect my family. Let's stop this madness!

Unbiased here....I own a dji, enjoy it. Compared to other brands in its class its normally the best for the price, but I also understand that it's a eye in the sky and can potentially be used for a Chinese spying device. I have no desire to assist in the downfall of my country.

So let me get this straight we have to fly VLOS but the faa just gave amazon permision to fly without VLOS hmmmm anyone seeing the big picture here ?

Give me an American made product that is as good as DJI and I will easily pay 1.5-2x more

Hopefully any drones that are already registered prior to the ban ( if it goes through ) are still grandfathered in and are able to fly. If so, I'm gonna buy an upgrade for sure

Drones in combination with thermal imaging may be one of the most important tools considering warfare. Just look at the war in Ukraine. I can see why a consumer would want to buy American made, not government made.

look. i've got the dji mavic pro og. i literally fly it at airports taking shots of planes (from above). I've done this for years. And they have never noticed. So i'm never selling it. (ps. I dont live in a village..the airport is large +2mill residents in the city).

Can anyone on the thread explain what personal information the DJI app alone, collects? Probably not, and we probably underestimate it. This is basically a cold war, fought in cyber, for now.

Thank you for trying so hard for all of us, those who love to fly and those who are paid to fly. My heart goes out to you and other people whose lives depend on flying drones. Unfortunately none of our lawmakers seem passionate about protecting any people who use these products. I wonder what the percentage of drones out in our nation will or could be impacted. Let’s remember. There is a large body of interests, both from the recreational, corporate and civil sectors who will fight any legislation that attempts to, in a draconian way, ground all drones with Chinese chips in them. I also don’t want to add to the fear around this, but the House recently voted on their bill around this topic, and their vote was 100%. I am only one person. I recently bought two DJI drones and have just been starting to enjoy flight. It’s amazing. But I do believe that not if but when the Senate votes, they will also vote to ground the drones I am speaking of in this post. Remember that large group of interested parties that I just mentioned? There will likely be multiple lawsuits challenging this ill founded legislation. With a little luck they will find a judge that will put a stay on the impact of the new legislation (which I fully expect Biden to sign). If this happens we will continue to fly while the finer points of the legislation are debated in court. Let’s all pray that it can be worked out.

Let’s be honest here who’s more of a threat the licensed drone pilot with a very strict set of regulations that you have to follow? Or the self-proclaimed “auditor” who takes cell phones into local, state, and federal buildings filming everything crying about their 1st Amendment rights and posting it KZfaq, Facebook, instagram, or TikTok? As business owners we pay our taxes those “auditors” are looking for clout! I don’t care what side of the isle you stand on, now is the time we come together and keep our businesses going! I read DJI is taking all measures necessary to keep us in the air even going as far as taking off the flight logs from the controllers and app.

Ban phones, tvs, and any products that are chinese made products. Hypocrisy to ban one product and not all.

I'd liked to have seen this video been a unbiased open discussion of why congress may be voting to ban dji drones, not telling us to call our representatives and tell them to stop this bill from passing. You obviously have money to lose understandably.
