Toyota tells us they were forced to partner up with BMW in order to make the Supra due to low volume...meanwhile Toyota creates the LC500 and the LFA. Think about it.

Toyota has been half assing things for a long time. People are tired of watching them play safe and keep raising prices for the same bullshit. Now they're giving people rebadged BMW's. If we wanted a BMW engine or any other shit they make we'd buy from them

Your first complaint is because more of a security feature than a nicety feature. The idea is that you need to be close by for any functionality of the vehicle, especially when it's designed in a country where BMW thefts are high. I didn't even understand your use cases regarding using the key fob for the top. I'm sure you realized by now that there is a V6 engine version....

does bmw have an app you can put the top up from your phone with despite how far away you are. My chevy my link app allows me to roll up and down windows from anywhere in the world theoretically.

BMW’s engine labels don’t make a lot of sense. 30 = 2.0L 4 cylinder 40 = 3.0L 6 cylinder 50 = 4.4L V8 60 = 6.6L V12 I think their thought process is that a turbocharger adds a certain amount of displacement. I don’t know. Also, in other world markets, the 20i is a less powerful 2.0 4 cylinder

It’s called 3.0i because there is 2.0i in Europe with 197hp. Wish the Americans were better informed.

Capless tank is the way to go, but most cars have a "hanger" on their fuel doors. I've been driving for 12 years (I'm 31 now. Man I'm old lol) and I've owned 1998 Malbu, 2002 Impala LS, 07 Acura TL, and now 2013 JGCSRT and they all have the "hanger" feature. It's good to see BMW making a slot for it though. Great review overall.

@@guerro327 pretty sure it's not as dramatic as you say... 40-degree drop in 10 minutes..without changing elevation? c'mon now .. i lived in the mountains of Nevada and it wasn't near as dramatic as you say..

In Europe there is a 20i with the same 2L but only 195hp. Hence the 30i that sits between this one and the 40i. But if you have a problem with the 30i badge do like me, order it badge-less. ;)

It seems to me like if you want to buy a new roadster you have three options: get a Porsche Boxster, pay a little less and get a BMW Z4, or pay 50% less and get a Mazda Miata. So, how does the Z4 compare to the Boxster? Is it a viable cheaper option? With TFL's recent Boxster experience, it seems like something you might have good insight on. I wish you had shared your thoughts. Is a Z4 worth two Miatas? This review felt a little lacking in substance There isn't even any footage of you driving the car.

that...30i issue since bmw turbocharged all their engines..they bragged that 2 litre turbo could produce hp rating as close or superior than 3 litre naturally aspirated one...Remember Lexus IS300 now also have 2litre turbo previously named IS200t...

Good honest review. I personally don't like the design as much as the previous generation car. It's probably much better dynamically. The lack of a manual is also hard to swallow

Too bad this reviewer did not bring more knowledge of BMW heritage ie., 30i is the 4 cylinder, can’t get in comfortably because of the steering wheel, the wheel is adjustable so leave it up and away after your last trip, like to drive with your arm draped over the door, BMW designed this car for BOTH of your hands at the 9 & 3 o’clock position for safety. Perhaps an old Lincoln would suit your driving style.

Why not call it the 20i?! Seriously?! Because there already is a 20i, a detuned version of the engine with 197 hp. Just not available in the US! The gas cap punch hole holder has been available on every single european car for the past decade. What planet do you live on?! Driving with your arm out?! Are we in the 60s or something? ......................Do you actually know anything about cars?!

It's a shame BMW marketing department have so much influence with the labeling of the current BMW range, it's completely stuffed up.... everything is an M model today,,, killing the real value of a real M car. It makes them look so stupid... thank goodness engineers still build the cars and we can ignore their childish labels.

Tommy, you're a nice guy - and I wish you well - but if you EVER pull a rookie move like continually gunning the motor - you're going to be looking up from the deck, seeing stars, and wondering why someone turned the engine off. Successive gunning of a motor, gunning a crank as it slows down is the surest way to twist or break a crank. Why don't you just go take an AME course on how an engine works. And, then, a really solid racing school - a week would be far better one than a dinky little poser weekend course. Then, take a MSF RiderCourse for bikes - or two. Because my first bike was the perfect example: Suzuki GS1100 EZ - first turnkey superbike with enough HP to twist or break the crank. How do I know? Two months into learning my bike & handing(wasn't me - so this not 'asking for a friend') . . . Suzuki recalls every single one to install a new, welded crank because some canyon squids had over-revved and gun-Gun-GUNNED and sacked the crank. Learn more. That never hurts you.
