Whoever the MP is for this place, pls try to keep this track, else the hobby will die. RC hobby is a healthy hobby which can be enjoy by both father and son together. FYI, i used to have about 20 buddies flying RC planes and racing drones but after all the strict regulations and fees imposed, almost all has stop.

I used to race at segar below the bridge, now no more they flattened that area. It is a great way to learn how real cars work too, sadly it is declining hobby. Earlier Singapore had maintained off road tracks like one at bottle tree garden one at old turf club but all are now sadly closed.

These look like battery-operated ones. Wait till you get into the petrol-driven ones. Not only are you talking about the increase in engine power and speed, but the money involved also goes really high. We're talking about thousands of dollars here, and obviously you have to also spend on maintenance as the parts, like a real car, wear out over time and require replacing. I was racing petrol-driven on-road cars in my 20s, having raced with battery-operated off-road buggies in my teens. We had sponsored races and man, the excitement and driver skill involved. The car set-up, handling issues, engine tuning.......it's not just all fun. You can learn a lot about the mechanics of a car as well as gain some engineering knowledge.

Same here. 1/10, 1/8, on and off road. Now Nitro GT 1/8 gaining popularity.

The brushless electric cars are way faster out of the box at least now compared to nitro. I had a 6s monster truck that would do a standing backflip. The nitro cars aren’t as responsive off the bottom because they have less torque. If you have a well running nitro they are a lot of fun though.
@bobbylim1971
@bobbylim1971 Жыл бұрын
@@watson8468 Nitro are a little less responsive because of the throttle lingkage compared to ESC on electric which is instant. Nothing beats the smell of nitro fumes, grease, tuning, smell and sound of a nitro engine. Electric are too silent..

The petrol driven ones are the real deal but really it need deep pockets to properly maintain and continually with the hobby

@@bobbylim1971 silence is a luxury in crowded SG... we are not living in large countries where there are plenty of empty land for nitro RCs to bash. You can't run a nitro RC at void decks and basketball courts due to loud noise.
