I really like the design. They should add Noise modes to replicate the silencer sounds, as the noise is 50% of the riding experience takeaway. They will have to really work at the sound engineering to make it sound real.

I would be willing to pay half of that for a used one in great condition in the States. I took one of these for a test ride too, on the same back streets and thought it was great fun. BUT I can't help feeling that I'd have had exactly the same amount of fun on a £2499 Niu UQI, which although built in China and lacking in hip retro looks, features a similar Bosch electric motor. I could then spend £1200 on a high capacity battery and a derestricted ECU from the. Netherlands, and have an electric motor-something with the same performance and a range of 120 miles for little more than half the price of the May-or-may-not-ving. Then again if all I want is eco-friendly London riding where the speed limit is now almost universally 20mph, I'd probably splurge £899 on an e-assist bicycle from Rad Bikes and have just as much fun, with a bit of getting fit from having to turn the pedals occasionally AND I'd be faster through town because I could use all the new cycling infrastructure.

7 grand starting for an electric scooter is pretty optimistic, but at least they have solved the problem facing most electric vehicle owners living in a big city - the ability (or lack thereof) to charge at home due to no driveway or off-street parking. 'Thumbs up', although I hate electric bikes. The one thing I like about it is the dummy petrol tank storage. A bit like the NC. Road tax will be only the beginning of the hidden cost of electric vehicles that the government will reveal gradually.
