Always different, this is a channel I truly appreciate for many reasons.....professional quality on every level. I love the way you take care of Florence and she you. I alove that you didnt just put her away for another boat! I have seen sights with you guys that I would never have opportunity to see otherwise. Tho I was a sailor of sorts, my days are limited now by age and circumstance...I want you three to know how much what you share means to me...thank you! I AM GRATEFUL.

Thank you (again) for your unique sailing channel. It has a quality that none of the others quite match. And a special thanks to Amy for sharing her personal story of how she grew up loving sailing in that locale. Your parents gave you a gift of infinite value. I am writing this email from Ganges, Saltspring Island in the Gulf Islands of British Columbia, Canada where we are currently moored while on our summer cruise north from our home in Friday Harbor (in the San Juan Islands of Washington State, USA). Once again we are (loosely) following the track of Capt. George Vancouver north to the Inside Passage. Vancouver served with Capt. Cook of course, who also explored the North Pacific Coast. I grew up on Whidbey Island in Washington State, so your visit to Whitby near Amy's childhood home was very interesting. I'm looking forward to your adventure circumnavigating the UK and Irelandd, and your future northern adventures. Hopefully, at some point you will visit the North Pacific coast of North America. I can't explain it. Perhaps it's symbolic of a life well-lived. But in my younger years I found it deeply satisfying to plough through those wind and wave conditions in a sailboat. Thanks for filming it so well as to trigger fond memories.

Random thoughts while watching this episode: Florence looks like a brand new boat Wow those new windows Amy should create a course to teach other sailing channels how to capture the sea state What a cool childhood of Amy’s her parents sound amazing Whitby is firmly on my must visit list for my next trip to uk (last one was 1997) still dreaming How can it be this channel doesn’t have half a million subscribers thanks all you patrons for keeping them up and running for us

Well guys, that was a blast from the past. I'm Australian, I live in West Aus but I've been to England a few times, the last time, I travelled up that way I visited Whitby and loved it, and the Dales. That was a long time ago, early seventies and I'm getting on a bit now but still hanging in there, building my fifth boat, can't seem to help myself. So thanks for that. Stay salty and keep safe.

As I watched this video, I couldn't help but think of Susan and Eric Hiscock, comparing them to you and your voyages. I began reading the Hiscock's books in the early 70s and even to this day, I still own their books and occassionaly re-read them. It's definitely a different world today given modern GPS, satellite communications, radar, space-age sails and sailing equipment, and boat design and construction. In their own way, they were true adventurers but that takes nothing away from your accomplishments for which you are to be congratulated and admired. Thank for sharing your adventures.....at 71 years old in a way I live through you, continuing to singlehanded sail my 42' Beneteau along the northern coast of the Gulf of Mexico. Again, thank you.

I have to say that your sang-froid when confronted by severe conditions at sea gives me so much confidence with my own, albeit single-handed sailing here in Asia .. the message you give out is have confidence in your skills and your boat .. there never seems to be any element of panic( well onscreen anyway) .. loving your trip round the UK, I have been an ex-pat for nearly 40 years and you are making me quite homesick …brilliant filming, narrative and music as always .. so many thanks !

This was quite a nostalgic video for me, as I left the Norfolk Coast (Sheringham where I was born), as a boy in 1958, but I can still vividly remember the coastal path, which my brother and I explored, the local ruined abbey and the 12th century church at Beeston. We used to climb Incleburgh, the highest point in Norfolk and look out to sea, I imagine that the view is full of windfarms now. I now live about as far away from there as I can get, in New Zealand, but of course we have the connection to Captain Cook, who actually named the area where I live. A great video for an old bloke to get sentimental over!
