You need to look up the band Peat and Diesel when you get to Stornoway on Lewis and Harris. They're legends. Totally unique like you guys.

You've sailed around the world with minimum everything, electronics that were iffy, not enough sails, a drafty cockpit and so much more. watching you sail round the UK with a setup NASA would be pleased with is weird!

This is worth a try for your camera. Remove the battery. Turn power button on. Hold down shutter button for at least 30 seconds. Shut off power button. Replace battery and try!!

I was in UK for two weeks and the weather was shocking, why or why would you like to sail to Scotland and experience even worse weather. 😂😂

You’re sail handling is sooo good. It might be helpful for casual viewers to put a ticker on the bottom showing what you’re doing step by step with the spinnaker, putting a slab in the main (etc.)

I'm currently watching a tv programme called Ultimate Processes S1/E7 - Boats. About an Italian company called Wally which makes technologically advanced superyachts. Sails are hoisted with the touch of a button😳 Very fancy but I reckon proper sailing is far more interesting. They also explain how the sails are made and how they work. For someone like me who doesnt know much about that it's actually really interesting.

What a GREAT episode! Thank you again. Now in Pender Harbour and preparing to cross the Strait of Georgia to Vancouver Island. Forecast: 2 kt and calm seas. Time to go.

So you just sailed by, and never waved, charming!! ;) Admittedly Findhorn, is a bit off course.

They passed by so many of the UK viewers that have supported them sail around the world over the years. It's pretty disappointing, that they would rather do long unnecessary overnight passages missing out lots of nice areas especially around the east coast. Maybe this season should have been called getting to Scotland as fast as possible.

Good to see you sailing again. So much to see in the world and so little time. Higher latitudes are different. I have a hard time understanding how people and live in the heat of the tropics. I live in the Central Oregon Cascades. This morning woke to 42 degree F. :)

Yawn police here Amy one and a half demerit points for you.. Hand over mouth.... Ha Ha only joking.. Loved this ep. (as all the others) What great views. Great to hear the bagpipes of Wick. Always amazed at the tides and weather yachties come up against all round the UK. Whitby means a lot to our history in Aus, Happy sailing xx

I am just amazed looking at Florence after her refit! She looks like a new boat! I am so impressed wiyh what you've done for her! You didn't seem to miss going forward to reef the staysail! But admittedly those were the most exciting parts of your passages as we never knew if you'd get bounced off the boat or not! Your coast line is quite rugged but beautiful. Your drone shots are really the icing on the cake as far as viewing impact goes! What does the geographic term "head" actually refer to? is it just a point of land that juts out into the water?

Don’t miss either of the Orkneys or the Shetlands, as there are so many interesting ancient things to see. I would love to visit both of them, but it is just too far from Melbourne.

I recognise your problem with cameras and lenses. Some years ago I had a windfall, so I promised myself a digital SLR, so I chosen Nikon D40, with 2 matching lenses. Later I learned that these were the only lenses which fit the D40, which is considered an ‘entry- level DSLR’.😮

Fantastic episode. The first half was a Masterclass training video on Sailing, Navigation and Weather. All the sails look great too. 2nd half was a bonus travel guide to the NE Scotland coast. Well done.

Brought back many memories from my liveaboard days. Snuffing the chute in a sock... night watches... the delight of hot soup under way. "Florence" looks beautiful everywhere. Wonderful scenery.

It's not as fashionable these days, but there's a very cheap amateur radio the size of a deck of playing cards called the "true-sdx". Digitalization has been a game changer for amateur radio, and you can reliably send messages (or download gribs) on 5watts. They're around $100. Alternatively a rtl-sdr (software defined receiver) plugs directly into the computer to receive weather fax info or navtex, and it can double as a backup AIS receiver.
