My wife (Ashley) and I (Jameson) decided to leave our home in San Diego, California and DRIVE to Anchorage, Alaska in order to be closer to her brothers Adam and Justin who are affected by Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. We will be living in Alaska for the foreseeable future in our 34" Grand Design Solitude RV and are looking forward to sharing EVERYTHING with all of you including but not limited to:
- RV Tour and our favorite features!
- A look at our custom 2019 F-350
- Learning about DMD and talking with Adam and Justin
- Mod and review videos for all of our upgrades
- Everyday struggles
- Wildlife and adventures!
- Camera gear and workflows
- everything else!!!

Greeting from the Cariboo up here in Canada. Yes the fridge can stop circulating due to the reason of the Water content that is inside the cooling unit. There's water - liquid ammonia and sodium chromate and Hydrogen that makes up the cooling solution mixture. In temperatures of -25 to -45 degrees Celsius the water in the cooling unit is subject to freezing causing the circulation to stop. what I found in that regard is you have to insulate your vent doors on the inside as much as possible to keep the arctic air out. First remove both doors and cut out a piece of foam to 90% of the door size leaving 10% so it can still breath and mount the foam either on the out side or inside with tape. This will help keep out the extreme cold and allow the fridge to continue to operate. BUT remember to remove it in the spring time when the outside temp rises to 5 degrees and above so that air flow can be restored. You might want to try this in getting a small handy heater that uses 350 watts which would be more than enough to keep the cooling unit from freezing .

its all part of learning and staying up to date and being properly informed - somethings just are not told to you at the dealership when buying a new unit which is kinda a shame. Its how we who live in these units are able to pass on to those who are starting out and how we in the rv world can pass on what we have learned - sort of like being one big family.. Its Grrrrrrrrreat! Like Tony the Tiger would say...

5:07 Anchorage isn't even cold, try putting your hand over the inlet or outlet of the hair dryer to choke the airflow off some, then the heating elements will be able to heat up. I'd do something similar to get heat from a little 12v heater in the cab of my car when I lived in Fairbanks. And that was in the -30's and colder.

You should just make an insulation box around your water well or spicket

First time watcher and I'm already liking your guys approach on life. Not to mention your girl is a keeper "its 5 o'clock somewhere right"😂👏 Edit: loved your vibes man. Very educational and informative. While all the Alaskans are probably laughing at you, I and I'm sure many others truly appreciate the content. Going to sub and check out some of your other videos!

We did not! We ended up just buying a house here. We were a bit nervous about being new to this climate and living in a camper, so we played it safe 😅
