Hi Chris and Aaron! Great job to you two for still getting it done when you are man down. Wow….it is easy to not comprehend how important mobility is until it doesn’t exist. I wish you both a quick return to normality! This is a great video for me to see since we will be there in Vegas this weekend. Right after we got back from the solar install trip in TX, I fell on the ice while out goofing off with my dog in the woods. The fall impact was absorbed by my thumb. 3 weeks later and it still hurts quite a bit. My wife broke out her wrist brace for me yesterday, so hopefully that is enough immobilization for it to heal. Safe travels! Mouth is watering for a mega burger like you had! But…I will refrain this weekend.

Haven't read all the comments so maybe someone else may have suggested this already. You might like a "kneel on scooter" to get around instead of crutches... Vegas is just huge, very disorienting, things are a lot farther away than they look. But what a fun place to go! I've been may times and cabs are the way to get around.

Hang in there Aaron. I had my ankle crushed, broken leg, knee and hip in a accident many years ago. I've had 7 corrective surgeries and a couple of years ago I had a ankle foot fusion done, total knee replacement. The ankle caused (and still) causes the most discomfort (understatement) LoL Take your time and take it easy for now. Thoughts and prayers with you!

A person quickly learns what handicap means! I’ve been on crutches several times, stairs, doors, curbs, all kinds of obstacles you would never think of in your daily routine are now a problem! I quickly learned what it meant for people who were handicapped more severely than myself…

Aaron definitely earned his hamburger . I agree Uber is a good way to get around Vegas. Next time go to old Vegas downtown Fremont street . You can experience live music , cocktails , people watching while walking down the street. Also the old time casinos like the Golden Nugget are there. The Top of the World at the Strat has spectacular views . So much to do. We also toured the Hoover Dam while visiting. I hope you guys go back one day . I enjoy your videos. I was never a big You Tube viewer pre-pandemic. I now find myself watching You Tube more than regular TV. I enjoy watching You Tubers that travel or live in another country.

Is the pain from a sprain worse than from a fracture? I don't know. I've had around two fractures in my life and they were painful like a mothertrucker! The first was a green fracture (when you're young and your bones haven't fully formed yet) and I screamed the house down! The second one, was a hairline fracture and while I didn't scream the house down, it was so painful! The paramedics on the phone wanted me to drive to the emergency room, as the ambulance was 2+ hours away. Yeah, good luck with that one, buddy! I couldn't even wiggle my toes. To make walking easier, try a knee scooter. It's a workout, but far better and faster than crutches!
@IreneIronTravels

My fracture was more acute pinpoint pain as I remember and this sprain is more of a dull full foot swelling pain.

I have sprained and/or fractured both my ankles and a foot more than once ha ha but have to say a knee scooter is so much easier than crutches if you need to walk around like you did in Vegas. Even a grocery store run was easier. Feel better soon.

I will have to try Gordon Ramsey burgers when I am there next time. Also, unless you never leave your e-bikes alone, I wouldn’t take them to the strip, they will walk away. Way to soldier on and make the best of the situation. Just be mindful, as I’m sure you are, of the big picture with the recovery. Don’t want to overdo it and have any setbacks. As far as biking, head out to Red Rock and do the loop on the bikes next time. Very beautiful and scenic. Unrelated, but we’re down in Quartzsite at the show and picked up a Battleborn 8D 270amps. Been testing it out and liking it so far. Just have to dial in the inverter and solar charge controllers’ settings and we’ll be good. Hey Aaron, I just want to say hang in there it will get better! About five years ago in a ski accident I ripped all four major tendons in my right ankle, they put me in a walking boot after three weeks, and amazingly everything did knit itself back together. The new collagen turns into your new tendons. I lost a little mobility, because of scar tissue, but the sooner you can put weight on it and start walking with the boot the better. If I had it to do over again, at two weeks to 2 1/2 weeks I would’ve started the grueling recovery. Hang in there you’ll be back running before you know it…

I was thinking about Aaron's ankle issue, and figured that if you were going to sprain it, at least it happened after the trailer build. I'd imagine he and Chris would have had a much harder time with it if the trailer was still begin renovated, and if he was still building the electrical system, as I'd think he could not lug around those heavy batteries and go inside and outside a bunch of times to install wiring and components. Likewise, if Chris had to do tear down and towing duties on top of all that painting and organizing, she would have been run ragged. So, that has to count for something. Also, those burgers did look pretty good, and though Aaron did run himself down walking to and from the giant mall, at least you know you can put some effort into walking and still get it all done. I'm sure the walking part and parking part was not pleasant, but you both did it, and that has to count for something too. Now you both just have to maintain your current standard of living until he heals, and try to keep up on your cardio in the hopes that once the ankle is tip top, you can still finish that marathon. That is probably the hardest task left since there is no way Aaron will be 100% by the time you get there, but since you're gonna try to do it all anyway, I'm sure you'll figure it all out. Good luck, as always, and I think if you both just keep your eye on the goal, you both will get there and become stronger and tougher, for it.

Yes, great idea for a video topic. There doesn’t seem to be a great option for nation wide health care for full timers . I think most go through their home state like us, but it doesn’t cover out of state. Thankfully ours does cover urgent care so we were able to do that. If we had to stay stationary we would either stay with family or do a long term rent at a Rv park.

Not sure why you didn’t drop Aaron off at the Gordon Ramsay door and then you go park and walk back to the restaurant. Reason for saying this is I just had major foot surgery and now in a boot. There is no way Aaron should have put so much pounding on his ankle. However, you live and learn. Always look forward to your videos.

After the parking ramp we didn’t know where we were going to park until we ran into the outdoor parking. Chris did offer to drive back to the restaurant but I was being stubborn! She also offered to walk back afterwards and come back to pick me up. But I was feeling pretty couped up and needed to move a bit.

I’m not a fan of Las Vegas at all. Years ago we traveled through there with our kids. We decided to walk along the Strip to see what appeared to be family-friendly attractions. The sidewalks were literally covered with leaflets and brochures advertising local shows, which we didn’t pay attention to until our 13YO son commented that it was all porn! At that point we quickly doubled back to our car (via side roads) and left. Years later we were passing through again (w/o kids) and decided to give it another try. Made the mistake of attempting a “shortcut “ by cutting through one of the mammoth casinos (gag!) and couldn’t find our way out! It was like a maze! Nope. Too much glitz and gambling. That said …. those burgers you had looked delicious! Sorry about the ankle. We all knew Chris would quickly conquer the hitching and towing. She’s a natural.

I could see how Las Vegas is not everyone’s favorite for sure! This was our first time and didn’t really get to see a lot of it. We’ll probably be back at some point see a bit more it.
