Yet another litigant trying to throw anything at the wall that will stick! First the plaintiff stated that she wanted out because he wasn't the landlord she wanted, due to the broker writing 'Non-refundable' on the contract. When that did not work, it comes to light that they didn't all get to see the place, sis never laid eyes on it. Then attempt #3 in the exit interview, (If I understood her correctly) that she didn't know what she was signing ...? In reality, she was making decisions for the three of them, hubby would have gone along, he wouldn't want to cross her, but Sis said "Nah!" All three knew this lawsuit was a no starter, but hey, some credit for trying!

What is the advantage of hiring a brokerage firm to find an apartment? I've always found my via apartment listing, Zillow, or Red fine to find apartments. Why pay 1k to have someone else do the same steps?

What is wrong with her??? You can’t just change your mind after signing the paperwork! Your signature on that paperwork makes the contract enforceable. If everyone could get away with doing that, we’d never be able to keep our properties rented, and therefore could not make any money! But of course, people don’t think about or care about that. It’s all about THEM. A business transaction goes BOTH ways.

You can sign a contract and change your mind 5 min. later. You are still out. Once your name is signed on the dotted line you are now bind by the contract. Nothing the defendant did wrong..at all. It seemed she was close to making up something like he's was coming on to me or something like that. Buyers remorse...that is that feeling she got.
