The plaintiff says he painted the interior of the defendant’s house, but she hasn’t paid him in full. He’s tired of asking and deserves to get paid, so he’s suing. The defendant says the plaintiff brought his 12-year-old son to do heavy manual labor and kept asking her out and acting inappropriately. Bottom line, she paid him in full and owes nothing.

What, I learned in life is never ever assume how much money someone has by what you see or don't see. Some people don't have a lot of fancy stuff and could be loaded or they could have fancy stuff and be broke. The plaintiff should of focused on how much his service is worth. He cheated himself.

Agreed! At my old job, a salesman for us retired and gave a big box of his work shirts away. Atleast 15 nice polo shirts, 10 nice button up long sleeves, vests, 3/4 zips, etc. Everywhere I go people treat me different if I wear those over an old teeshirt.

Exactly, I know women who work 3 jobs. Do their own hair, nails and thrift shop to find really nice clothes purses etc. You would never know they didn't have it made.

Totally agree, but at the same time it’s always a good idea to agree on a fair price with a contractor. Even if people agree to work for a rock bottom price you’ll get half hearted work in the end...

The plaintiff reminds me of some of my former techs who said, “If you want me to do a better job you need to pay me more.” You agreed to do the job for the amount you’re getting paid. If you want more, do a good enough job to show you’re worth more. Did the defendant take advantage of him? Absolutely. However, he’s a grown adult. If he fell for it (probably because he’s attracted to her 😂), it’s on him.

The decision was fair. The Defendant was thoroughly unlikeable, with her pretentious nice-nasty attitude; she took advantage of him, and fired him when she had gotten most of the work done for a cheap price. That said, the plaintiff tried to exaggerate the amount he was owed with an empty claim about how much she has and by claiming she owed more than she did. The amount in the text was the only thing honorable & trustworthy in this entire case.

Her pretentious nice-nasty attitude & the fact that she fired him after he did the bulk of the work but before she had to pay the final large installment. And she took advantage of him because she knew full well she could afford more but begged him to go lower on the price by misrepresenting herself as someone who didn’t have money and couldn’t afford it. When you lie to make a deal, that’s a misrepresentation, and it’s taking advantage of someone.

And if he is even telling the truth, she represented herself as not being able to pay which in turn he lowered his price. Nothing personal. We don't know this woman. I can't be the only one who was annoyed by how many flipping times the defendant said it's not a problem! I think we all get that it's not a problem! Also her snide little remark at the end when asked how many bags she had she said 30 then she said "this is one of them" "isn't it cute thank you" before someone even had a chance to answer if it was cute made her look like a spoiled little rude brat!
