Hey Mike, I used to be like that. Stressing over big things, little things and everything inbetween. Made my life miserable. As I found out let go and let God, everything happens for a reason..According to what you said about needing a commitment, sounds like the guy gave them the info they needed for you to get the truck. Things move at a snails pace over the couple of weeks during Christmas and New Years and getting paperwork processed during this period is a nightmare. Thinking positive for you.

It's amazeing what you think about behind that windowshield. That's the life of a truck driver. Years of experience at your trade honeing it to a fine edge. Glad you went with a glider, Use to be the cheapest way to go to get a new truck for the money. That was before you had to pay a 1/4 of a million dollars for a rig. Good luck

Hi Mike. Enjoy your site. Yes, you have just bought a pretty nice truck. My read: he phoned your reference, everything was good, he liked you and put it through fast.

I was always told those gliders are really meant for owner-operators and fleets who have well-aged trucks they want to trade-in that have low miles on their most recent motor overhaul. Keeps guys from basically paying twice for a motor, close together over time and miles run, when trading for a new truck/chassis. Usually you don't get much more if you trade a recently overhauled truck in versus one with a basically worn-out motor. The dealers keep that profit for themself when they resell the overhauled truck, by charging extra to the buyer. With glider purchase, you can keep your fresh motor with you. Gliders also get used with motor swaps if a newer truck is totaled in an accident. I'm thinking you might have some problems in a DOT inspection if some of that safety and emissions electronics are not in that model year truck, Mike. You might want to check into that. It's been 12 years since we closed our trucking business, so I'm a bit out of the loop on what DOT expects. We bought one glider in the 73 years we were in business, but there wasn't that much electronic gear on them back then.

With the way KZfaq has screwed everyone by playing extremely long (can't avoid or skip them) adverts at the front of ALL videos now, I still have a KIWI way to avoid it all, and that's to open the video I want to watch to see adverts start, then IMMEDIATELY push "next video arrow" & instantly then hit BACK TAB, to come back to a clean restart of the video I want to watch - with NO ADVERTS. Has worked every time since long ago, when these "forced to watch" adverts started.
