Really glad you are back - but it is going to take a bit of adjusting from the evergreen trees and scenic mountain roads to these brown scruffy bushes and pretty flat roads. My hat off to you for taking change and new challenges with such an open mind. Thanks for taking us where most of us would never be even close to seeing in person!

Hi Mike, over here in Ohio, they call US 40 "The National Road." As for too many trucks, if they had to pay you for sitting, things would change in a hurry. You drivers need to stick together and push the issue.

We had detention pay in the 70's-80's. It was too expensive for shippers, and they got the Federal government to repeal detention pay. Ain't gonna happen again, you can bet on it.

Thanks for sharing your videos, the scenery is just awesome, along your new trails. Like the new rig also. Question Is it possible to show how the rig is loaded at one of the oil sites? Keep on Truckn

Love to hear all of the changing of gears. Reminds me of a time, back in the 70's, when I did Home Heating Oil in a new GMC. Only miss the JAKE now. PEACE.

There's something hypnotic about watching the road, even though the weather looks dreary, and the landscape doesn't look bright and cheery. I don't know if I'll ever make it out to Colorado and Utah again. My last sojourn out that way in 2019, I had no idea how things would change for us. At this time, I don't even have a car I would trust to get us there.

They put water on the gravel to keep the dust done yes, but most importantly it helps the gravel pack easier. 125000 you must have a 550hp Cummins or better. By the sound of your truck you must be driving a 13 or 18 speed Ultrashift as well. If your shifting manual I'm impressed.

Hey, thar mouten man Mike. This past summer I rode my motorcycle US50 across Nevada then I70 across Utah to Mesa Colorado then southwest over the GrandMesa to Delta south US550 the million dollar highway south thru NewMexico to Bernalillo NM I25 to Albuquerque then I40 back to Arizona then home. I can blame all of this travel on you. Back in the late 70s early 80s I hawled fuel for EXON and this is the first time traveling since then. I made one more trip into Denver, then south to Colorado Springs, and I did the ride up Pikes Peak: AWSOME"

good to see them adding passing lanes up Indian canyon with all the truck traffic. Welcome to the Uintah Basin. If in Vernal stop by 565 e main Uintah Basin is surrounded by mountains and so in the winter we get an inversion.

My car insurance company has an app that gives me money to spend if my driving is good. My 2 week score is 98 and if I keep my score above 95 I will earn $5.00 by December 10. I've already earned a $25.00 visa card. Happy to hear you are under the radar. Happy trucking.

Ft. Duchesne according to Utah history named after the river and probably named by some trappers after Mother Treasa Duchesne from St. Louis, who started the School of the Sacred Heart. So now you know

Been off your truck for awhile; so now you're back to actually jamming gears again...all right--apparently running one of those double rigs with a pup, moving oil. I hauled Propane back in the Lubbock-Andrews area ( a million years ago. ).

Hi Mike and Gday from sunny Queensland , Australia , we know how much money oil companies make , one would think they would have more respect for truckers and fix up their access roads , and share their wealth , stead of screwing haulers over as usual , cheers

I'm curious, if you get your own truck will it be a manual shift or automatic? How well suited would an automatic be on those slow steep roads going either up or down with the heavy loads at really low speeds?

Things were screwed up yesterday, then screwed up again today? You only got one load? Better wait before you buy a truck, to see if they do that screw up 300 days a year out of 365, and you have payments to make regardless. Far fewer ulcers happen when you just drive for someone else, and let them worry about that stuff. Fifty more loads a day from that well will just attract even more trucker bees to the honey.
