The Note 8 was recently released and new phones are shipping out as we speak. I have opened up my Galaxy Note 8, and removed the color from inside the glass, making the whole phone transparent. It is possible to see INSIDE the phone while it is turned on and working! The circuits and components are truly a work of art.

Every single one of these clear back phones that Zack has done is visually incredible. I guarantee he could make a tidy income if he were to offer this process as a paid service. Black PCB isn't much more expensive to manufacture so I'm sure if they intended on having the back clear they'd put in black pcb. You're right though the blue does look off and I can't believe he didn't replace the scratched up camera lenses and fingerprint sensor while he literally had it all out.

Obviously, I was speaking about the concept for such an option overall, not fretting about the details in aesthetic execution - that's what industrial designers are for :) Do folks actually believe that if clear backed smartphones were to actually become a manufacturer offered option, that they would wouldn't pay some attention to how the components actually look? Nah, I don't believe so... :) Just looking at the results of the few that Zack has "jerry-rigged" without any PCB color modification - to me they still look amazing overall. So that translates as zero design effort resulting in a truly distinctive and compelling look for a phone. cheers

This is a phone that stick with 1 battery forever. Anyone that attempt to replace the battery definitely will break the waterproofing seal for sure. Definitely is a flagship phone. The process of dismantling have the feel like dismantling an automatic watch caliber. Breath taking to see how i ever gonna put it back correctly after dismantling it. Great work for u!

Just did this with my note and its sick! There's a seller on ebay that sells clear note 8 backs so you don't need to try and recycle the old back. $13 later, worked like a charm and was only half the work!

Maikeru Dabittsu it's just a typical samsung hype. Everyone is interest in samsung devices, because samsung has it's marketing right. I think samsung phones and lg v30 are ugly phones. I don't like the round and curved edges of de s8 and the v30. Samsung has a useless bixby button and i don't like their software. 10gb google apps and just another 15gb of the same apps as google but developed by samsung. And the missplaced fingerprint reader.

I can tell you from my experience with my Note 7 that I smashed the first day I got it, then sent to Samsung using a credit card covered warranty, the phone will be slightly less waterproof. I noticed there was some extra flex to the case. If I squeezed the screen and back, it flexed, not like before, it was super solid. I was applying a wet application screen protector and decided to wash my phone off first under the tap. A little moisture got in it and the camera fogged up and stopped working. I used a hair dryer to heat it up and let it cool several times until steam no longer fogged up the camera. After that everything worked fine, but I will not trust the waterproofing after having the screen replaced. It might be semi waterproof, but don't go dunking it in water on purpose if you do happen to get your screen replaced.
