No. Que se quede mientras dé el nivel. Después se le deja libre para que se vaya a donde quiera, si es que quiere, a terminar su carrera. Y luego, que vuelva a entrenar a los juveniles, de "embajador" del club o de lo que sea, si quiere. Pero el Madrid no es un club para retirarse. Ni siquiera Don Alfredo pudo. Cuando tenía treinta y alguno y quería seguir Don Santiago le dijo: "si quiere Vd. ser presidente, ocupe mi despacho desde mañana, pero seguir en la plantilla no puede ser". Y se fue, enfadado, al Español. Al final volvió a su casa.
