Tbh I didn't. Not for sure anyway. I thought it sounded like it was about some goth girl he fell for. Kinda like Alex Turner in You're So Dark. You know what I mean? I didn't interpret it literally. I love how this video perfectly encapsulates how it feels to be alone and struggling with your own mental health issues and the feeling of loneliness you get from both experiencing that yet also being in a large group of people. I've noticed a lot of people here interpret the song here, but I haven't seen anyone talking about the whole religion thing. Actually when I listened to it for the first time I was pretty sure it's about God and disappointment in life and religion. "she" is someone opposite to God, demonic maybe or just very down to Earth, and I thought the refrain is an appeal to God. "What did you think when you MADE me this way?" and all "you're my religion" thing closer to the end. Idk, maybe the whole theory is a bit strained, but I really wanted to share it. Sorry for the bad english.

I think they are, but you have consider: people are still raised with religion, so being atheist is a conscious decision, opposed to believing in god which is just sticking with you've been taught. In other words there's always a reason why one became an atheist. For me it's been disappointment in god for letting me suffer crisis in my childhood and I think at least for Connor it'd be the same. Wouldn't be surprised if losing his mom and his depressions are what made him an atheist. Thus I don't see them being atheists to necessarily contradict Дмитрий Ветровский's interpretation.

When I first listened to it, 2 years ago, I very much questioned my sexuality and whole being. For me those words were like why did God made me this way, not straight, just an awkward shy unpopular person who sucks in everything. I believe in God, but I am not really religious. The first time I saw this video and found out the truth, I didn't expect it. Now after hearing the song again and reading the lyrics, it all makes sense. The entire song is about vampire love, and so is this video. And the EP is being released in October. And you know what else is in October? Halloween. These guys were ready for Halloween for months and I didn't even know. My dumbass.

Astrid Francesca Have you heard of the BBC? it’s a broadcasting company in the uk. CBBC is children’s BBC. They have a channel and do lots of kids shows. The guy in this video is Cel Spellman and he used to be a presenter and host on various kids tv shows - a lot of them music based and now he’s a dj on bbc radio 1. (as well as an actor)

I saw it more as of he was trying to isolate himself from people to not hurt them, stop himself from being "dracula" as the song states, but then at the end when he looks high and then finds the girl he can't resist it
