Sanji "I needed a light" in Skypiea did it first but Zoro "Nothing happened" is on another level.

There's a joke about the nothing happenend and how Zoro survived, he saw the light, it said to him to follow it, naturally, he got lost and went the opposite way, back to his body

That's the reason Thriller Bark isn't all that well received. Nothing happened this arc.

I really wanna point out how for Zorro standing up here is like saying "My Ambition will never come true if I let my Captain die anyway" But for Sanji it was "My Life isn't as important as those two so take me or I'll make you regret it" No words about the All Blue just that they will have to find another cook (as if he'd be simple to replace) It's overshadowed by Zoros pure unfiltered badassery but this is an important Character moment for both of them

We know Vegapunk already. Hes "the greatest Scientist" of the government. He was mentioned in water 7 when Spandam explained Vegapunk made it possible for his sword to eat a devil fruit. Should be enough prove that hes definitely a genius😂

I love the subtle storytelling mechanics applied in the interaction between Zoro and Kuma. Seeing Zoro toss his swords at Kumas feet shows me how committed he was to his sacrifice because it showed that he was willing to forsake his title of Swordsman before forsaking his captain. Then after Kuma deflects Luffys pain from his body, we get to see Kuma, who towers over our crew, get absolutely dwarfed by the extent of Luffys pain. Phenomenal episodes😩👌

I feel only Zoro could have done this... He has shown time and time again that he can take serious damage and still survive... He is soo freakin cool! 😆

I think it's Kuma's impassive face and quiet voice that makes him so menacing. He isn't fazed by anything.

"Nothing Happened" is the single most impactful moment in the entire series to the viewer that you don't really see coming, the most impactful moment to the story happens a few hundred episodes form now ;)

Zoro took not just the pain of the battle with Moria which was already insane. Luffy getting stomped on repeatedly by giant Moria, and using all the shadows. But ALSO the side effects from Second Gear, which luffy can only use because his organs are rubber. Zoro is literally just built different.

Nothing happened has more meaning than just zoro sacrificing himself for Luffy. Zoro has always held his dream of being the best swordsman as his goal and priority, he placed luffy’s life and dream above his own

At this moment me and my friend literally said to each other, it doesn’t matter if the rest of One Piece is trash or garbage, this moment alone solidifies it as the greatest anime we had ever seen. And one of the greatest pieces of fictional literature we have been privileged to lay our eyes on. This moment also pretty much ended the Sanji/Zoro debate. Sanji’s amazing, but he don’t train every 2nd like Zoro. Zoro at his peak moments feels like a 2nd Luffy at times. He had his own damage and fatigue + the damage and fatigue that Luffy let himself pass out from! “If I can’t even protect my captains dream, what hope do I have of accomplishing my own?” Also as far as Vegapunk goes. Our first allusion to him is on Alabasta with the dog gun. Ms Merry Christmas mentions that “Grandline Scientists” have figured out how to make inanimate objects eat Devil fruits. Fast forward to Enies Lobby and Spandam may have mentioned Vegapunk in how his sword ate a fruit. Then post Enies Lobby Koby raves about the guy and his genius, talking about how he figured out how to get marine ships across the calm belt using sea stones. It should be noted that Oda has said that when we meet this character he may tell us a lot of secrets about Devil fruits…

And than you remember that Luffy hates nothing more then people sacrificing themselves for him, thats why he and also the others dont tell a word about it to Luffy. That makes this moment even more badass

If anyone ever had a small doubt of who the Vice Captain of the Straw Hats is, just remind them of this iconic event.

Luffy is rubber, so while he still takes damage, a lot of it gets nullified/reduced by the rubber power, so he can take A LOT more damage than a normal person. That little taste Zoro got was actually a lot of damage, but for Luffy it was next to nothing

Oda is a mad genius. He makes you drop your jaw to the floor in one scene, then makes you cry like a baby in the next, and manages to make it all work!

Most people don't even get that it wasn't only pain. Fatigue is a real kind of damage that destroys physical structures due to repetitive stress/strain. Luffy is made of rubber, so it's expected that his body can take much more fatigue than a regular human body.

give more appreciation to my boy Sanji. He always sacrifices himself for the crews’ life and even their dream from the very start. Saving Luffy and Nami life during the avalanche in Drum Island; saving usopp from Enel. This time he is willing to give his own self instead for everyone and so Zoro can still follow his ambition, as he did for Zeff and Baratie. Respect my boy, he was ready to be sacrificed and alway prepared for this all the time. However the big difference is Sanji was willing to die for the crew. But, Zoro was gonna survive for them. One of the best One Piece moments!!! (Sorry for my English)

The soundtrack for that ursus shock is one of my favorites in the whole series, it just oozes and radiates and intimidating insurmountable pressure.

i know this is supposed to show how much damage and fatigue luffy suffered and that zoro is a bad ass... but to take luffys damagae and fatigue which made HIM pass out, while zoro was already very much damaged and fatigued and still survived.... thats will power

this episode with kuma is pure art you see kuma everytime from lower perspective, its always the big endboss for us. we always see kuma like we are a small ant and kuma is a big fat grizzly in front of us that perfektly shows the power differenz between kuma and mugiwaras
