I have a thought. If Benedict is going to have an existential crisis, ala who am I, maybe he will let himself go a bit and get really slobby and gruff looking. I think they are going to have the Masquerade Ball where Sophie and Benedict meet and it is there that he decided he needs to pull himself together to look respectable for when he finds his lady in silver. That could be where his glow up comes in for season 4! Well what do you think of my head cannon? 😉🤪

That makes me wary that they might do Eloise next. Colin and Penelope would play a big role in her story. They also said they had to move up Penelope’s story as the ladies couldn’t play teenagers for too long. I hope we get Benedict’s though

@@OryxArya In Eloise’s book, she is 28 when she finds her match. It would be nice if they stuck to the book age because then Eloise could definitely wait a few more seasons to be married

@@missylarissy8114 that was my thinking too but Claudia Jessie is in her mid 30s and I don’t know if they will be able to keep Pen and Colin in the story for another two seasons. I hope they can! I much prefer the characters not being teenagers and I really like show Pen and Eloise’s friendship!

I'm still pissed that they swapped them. How are they going to do the whistledown drama in Benedict's season when Penelope is outted in her story with Colin to be Whistledown. It should have stayed in book order cause Eloise marries only months after Pen and Colin.

@@majast4900 No it mite not be a Prince. Queen Charlotte merely said that her nephew is a Prince (talking abt Friedrich) & 'he's single', meaning he cud be an option for Edwina. That doesnt mean that they got together. In season 3 the Queen mentioned Edwina, saying that she found a "match abroad". That was a very coy & vague statement from the writers. Neither conversation gives any confirmation or clarity on who Edwina has actually married. Book Edwina doesnt marry a Prince. Show Edwina cud marry Prince Friedrich or another suitor entirely. We dont know yet.

I think they realized that after Season 1 ended, that they needed to lock down all of the actors for future seasons. It puts them in an awkward position for Daphne. I think the actress would appear in all future seasons, but without Simon, it would be weird. Hence, why she’s not in Season 3.

I think this would make a lot of sense. To me, Francesca could marry John this season, final episode of season 3 could be the masquerade ball where Benedict meets Sophie for the first time not knowing who she is and we would have the perfect cliffhanger for season 4. Season 4 would be Benedict's season and is when Eloise starts to write letters to Sir Phillip, so we would have season 5 for Eloise and season 6 to the other part of Frannie's story. That's what I picture, but who knows?

Agree. It was shortsighted not to have a contract for Daphne and Simon to at least appear every season. One day of shooting would be enough. Understand the spotlight is no longer on them, but they were the hottest couple so far. First Season is worth rewatching on repeat.

Most of these actors have gone on with their careers and simply can't take the time away to make an appearance. The original Francesca actress had to turn down appearing in this season because she is on another show. I miss the original actors too, but when you realize they have other acting contracts in place...I wish them well.

They said they wouldn't recast Simon. But since it's clear Régé doesn't want to return the show, that means we won't see the Duke again. Phoebe could return another time though, maybe in season 4

The thing is that whoever they choose there's always gonna be someone who doesn't like her for X number of reasons, what I think is most important is that they do a great job with the script because after Polin season they are setting the bar way too high

Since her name is Sophie, I was hoping for a Spanish girl someone that looks like Dolores or Isabella from Encanto. With an original regency bohemian style. Hyacinth love interest is going to be black because he is lady Danbury‘s grandson or half black. Francesca, the actor that they cast for John Sterling is also black so her other love interest since their cousins is going to be black or Mix. And I want to now what everyone’s opinion is. I didn’t like Theo for no other reason than he’s white, I like the idea 💡 of Theo but I don’t like that he’s a white boy that looks like Eloise’s long lost twin brother. Penelope and Colin are the only white non-mix couple I’m willing to accept. Because there my favorite 😍 as I said, I want the whole rainbow 🌈 and I want different fashion styles that incorporates those cultures. I was very upset when we didn’t get 🇸🇱Sierra Leone influences for lady Danbury‘s wardrobe, but I’m hoping when her daughter is introduced possibly in Hyacinth’s🪻 story or before we get cultural influences from Africa since I think that’s where she’s living now. and would love if this actress played Lady Danbury’s Daughter

@@sarickacampbell2642 Theo’s casting was fine to me because it was obvious he wasn’t going to last. Though the fact her book love interest has already been shown as white was disappointing. I don’t think I’d have liked Theo to be a visible minority, only for her to end up with a white man. I imagine others would similarly feel off put by that.

Girl 😒. There are people in here complaining that there is a lack of diversity because they have not included an East Asian or LatinX yet. I find that to be interesting that when they don't include East Asians or LatinX, people suddenly care about a lack of diversity(where was this energy for the last two seasons). I also find it interesting that people are ignoring the fact that in the second season the leading female love interest was Indian which is considered Asian regardless of the region; but that still isn't good enough. If BW complain about lack of representation or being misrepresented we are looked at as a problem. You know what actually irritated me( and I could be over-analyzing this) when looking at these comments someone actually said that they pictured a BW woman for this role while reading the book( mind you this person is non-Black) like what is that supposed to mean? So you felt that only a BW can play a role where she had to struggle before she met someone who took her out of her situation?! 🤦🏾‍♀️. BW always have to tolerate being underrepresented and we definitely don't complain this much especially not with the level of vitriol I'm seeing. Anyway, Imma end it off with this BW are the most disrespected and it's clear that a lot of women in here are jealous of this BW beauty(the one who might be cast as Sophie).

⁠@@lolab1917I’m not sure about the “lack of diversity” comments. I haven’t seen or interpreted them that way. I’ve seen it more as hoping for actual diversity, as in, more than just black/white. There wasn’t quite as much reason for “this energy” in seasons 1&2, because the lead couples were interracial. That said, there could have been some grumbling since we already knew 2 of the 5 oldest siblings have white partners-Colin and Eloise’s book love interests were more or less revealed in season 1. The reason for more energy now is because so many love Benedict, and season 4 is guaranteed. Season’s 5-8 are still up in the air. However, even then one is already known, and he’s white. I saw someone say Hyacinth’s is related to Lady Danbury, so that suggests another black male lead. There is only one other male Bridgerton, Gregory. All that said, there are other characters of interest and potential spinoffs/mini series. Queen Charlotte and Lady Danbury, (especially the latter). Plus, the former boxer and his wife (I’m blanking on names) and Ms Delacroix. There are quite a few BW (and mixed/light skinned) and they’ve been reasonably represented. With the exception of Lady Danbury’s love life, but if that is rectified I’d be good. As for that horrible Sophie related comment you mentioned… I’m so glad to finally find someone else call that out that BS! 🤦🏾‍♀️

To be honest, that is one of the most historically accurate aspects of the show. When these men were teens, there was a literal tourist guide's to London's sex workers published every year. It was once said that it was as important, socially, for a man to be seen in Harriette Wilson's drawing room as at White's club. When men took their sons to Oxford of Cambridge, it was standard practice for them to introduce their sons at certain well-known houses. Anthony's dad probably did that with Anthony - and he probably carried on the tradition with each of his brothers. Men of this class and this time period were expected and encouraged to be promiscuous.

@@sarickacampbell2642 I would love to see different ethnicities be in the spot light. The way India was represented in the last season was so gorgeous. I adored the way they incorporated traditional dress into their regency gowns and subtle traditions (like Kate making chai, and the amazing bridal ceremony) It’s a wonderful opportunity to represent different parts of the world. Also thanks for explaining the new characters backgrounds, don’t get me wrong, I’m not bothered the casting choices at all, I just really loved the way they put a different culture in the spotlight and showed us about their traditions and how flawlessly they can incorporate them into the regency era. I want to see more!! lol
