I'm not surprised Nd had trouble at times against Gu's defense. In the game they are down 2 rb's and 2 Wideouts going into the game. I thought the play calling was good by the coaches coming out passing on early downs knowing that running would be tough sledding. After a few drives ND has some positive run gains to keep down and distance OK. However, way too many dead ball false start penalties to have against this caliber opponent. I really think a lot of fans didn't realize that ND's defense is better than expected. Ever since 2 td's given up to Louisville on their 1st 2 drives the starters haven't given up much. BTw, those first 2 drives could have stalled without stupid dead ball offside penalties. GU's Qb I very good even on incompletions were good throws. Nd's 4 d backs are all seniors. bacchus thompson actually if you look closely each of the Georgia DB’s had one hand on top of Finke’s shoulder, so he could not get up to make a play even though he was trying to.
