He did a really interesting and funny stream recently too. Worth pointing out though that he not only has been online forever like most of us, he is literally a trained media person. Which helps explain how and why he was able to produce such polished and engaging videos right off the bat.

One thing that Armchair either forgot or didn't know to add to this was Finana's contribution to Zaion's smear campaign. That was a _huge_ part of the outcome, because she was just as hostile as Kotoka but with a lot more weight being such a veteran.
@marinusvonzilio96282 ай бұрын
You know what is funny? Sayu recently disclosed that she actually talked with Finana in private *before* Finana said those things publicly, the two of them patched things up (or so Zaion thought), only for Finana to *pretend like that conversation never happened* and she dogpiled on Zaion in public.

50:12, For context from Sayu's stream, although I assume you've probably watched it by now. At the time of termination she was only able to speak about the situation to Ryugu (assumedly), who chose to present her statement after as if the conversation did not happen. Kotoka never reached out to her, and even more recently when Sayu reached out to her again to see if they could make up, it was a definitive no.
@Kyle_1162 ай бұрын
Not only that, Sayu said the reached out MULTIPLE times to meet up/talk and at one point even scheduled something in a way that would mean Kotoka would have to go out of her way to not meet with her. Kotoka proceeded to go out of her way to avoid Sayu.
@marinusvonzilio96282 ай бұрын
A lot of people are saying stuff like "Sayu is justified in not being willing to make amends with former genmates" and "why would Sayu ever want to forgive/connect with them again", but the truth is actually more sad. Just recently Sayu publicly admitted that she *did* try to patch things up with Kotoka, if memory serves she said she reached out to her privately months after the termination and the whole drama died down. Kotoka rejected her. So much for that "for now". "For now" was basically Kotoka trying to downplay the severity of her statement. It also reinforced the idea that Zaion was a bad person. "I can not wish her happiness *now,* but *maybe* I can in the future", implying that Zaion first needs to become a better person before Kotoka graces her with her good wishes. It just feeds into the whole "Zaion is bad" narrative.
@DinnerForkTongue2 ай бұрын
That and her playing herself down as a "dumb gyaru who's not good at either language" only smooshed the Zaion effigy further into the mud. Because while it may have been taken as humility by Kotoka, she was placing Zaion one rung below her on the moral ladder.
@marinusvonzilio96282 ай бұрын
@@DinnerForkTongue Yep, and the "for now" served that same purpose as well, to portray Kotoka as humble. She was portraying herself as not holding a *grudge,* no, not at all. Instead, she is so good and decent and humble that she is willing to patch things up with Zaion in the future, *when Zaion becomes worthy of that* (is the implication, which also implies that Zaion is *really* bad in the present). "For now" = "I am a really good person, I am willing to forgive" + "this other person is really bad, so bad that even someone as good as myself can not wish them happiness at the moment, but I will give them a chance to redeem themselves in the future".

Putting into context how Kotoka's (alleged) interaction with the Genius Banpire at a not-all-there time led to her very unfortunate termination from holo, it should make some people have double takes on her statement about Zaion.

When the Zaion termination was put on public, I was feeling something off. Since how the company aired the ex talent dirty laundry without proper chance, for the talent may offer their pov on the matter. Another thing affecting my feelings back then was the termination of Ocean Otoishi from Project Kawaii (if I remember correctly). The gist of her termination mentioned her breaking the rule and lies to management and to others talents. Suspiciously I think about a month or two later her former genmates all decided to leave the company for reasons unknown.

Yeah, it felt so petty, very unprofessional for a company this big to do this type of thing, even worse was that fans took everything at face value and just ran with it.

@@MrTigracho You’re free to go watch her stream/tweet where she addressed it a bit herself while being very careful of Japanese defamation laws. Did she say it explicitly? No don’t think so because that’d be stupid in Japan you’d get sued for defamation and lose even if you’re telling the truth 💯%. Defamation laws in Japan are crazy to the point rape victims have lost defamation suits for implying the convicted rapists raped them in an article without even saying their name, because people may figure out who he is from the context and it could have damaged the rapists reputation. I agree with 99% of the video. The 1%, and it's mostly for youtube-compliance reasons let's be honest, is telling people that they shouldn't go after the other members. Sayu was brigaded by a corporation, you're not gonna stop individuals on their own from reigniting every time it comes up. I get it though, but frankly as far as Kotoka goes, can't say I'm in a position where I can wish her well. I hope she's reminded daily.

Ngl, when it comes to stuttering in apologies, I tend to stutter and repeated my words a lot to “correct” my wording or pronunciation because my brain runs too fast all the time, regardless if I tell the truth or not. My brain runs too fast that my tongue can’t catch up with all the words I want to say, so I fuck up the basic words sometimes. I also do pauses or talk slow at times, although I may not show it sometimes in my old streams. I fumble with my words all the time and slip up random words that had nothing to do with the words I was actually thinking due to my brain running so fast, so people may think I “slipped up,” which is part of why I worry if someone even sees my statements as genuine or not. What I learned about body language is noticing common habits the person does normally. If a certain behavior is something you see commonly from a particular someone being themselves, but it is usually seen as a “lying habit,” it’s subject to be either dismissed or speculation or some word I can’t think of. If the habit is something the person rarely does in speaking the truth, it may be a lying habit.

The point with following the company is probably correct BUT there is also a kind of disconnect that can happen when a vtuber streams without the "corpo filter". Just a made up example: regular corpo vtuber streams, has some huh moments etc. but within the limits of the corpo. Same vtuber then leaves corpo and starts streaming without the filter and suddenly the huh moments are not moments but just their entire stream.
