If I remember right the experimental weapon DOES come with fleet versions.

Fleet Nova is B-tier for me alongside the other scout ships there. Fleet Saber is either high D-tier if we take the strict wpn-layout into consideration of that video, or average B-tier if you are ok with only 4-forward wpn's on an escort. I am stepping away from Starship Comparisons for the foreseeable future -- the subjective tier list videos were my goodbye to that time on the channel. The upcoming tier list conclusion video will be about how the channel is changing & why.

​@@FeeriiEekii Subatomic Field Disruptor is better, especially when dealing with grouped targets in ISE & HSE. Flak Shot Artillery is a middle-of-the-road ExpWpn vs the others, hence why I normally recommend that one.

My plan at the moment is to do a tier list video every 6-12 months after the cruiser tier list video -- talking about all the new starships since the last time, where I would place them in the list, and any changes in placement to old starships (based on new traits/consoles/pets that may affect the list).

I do have a video in the works on the subject, but it is a little complicated to address. F2P currencies that all need to be balanced together: Refined Dilithium, Unrefined Dilithium, and Energy Credits. Are there issues with all 3 right now? Yes, and we have the data gathered from other diligent players to see it; the DilEx is just ONE component of a larger inflation issue both in-and-out of the game, so any combined solution to the game will have to address how to remove the excess of all 3 of the F2P currencies **meaningfully**. Before my laptop died recently (hence the big gap on the channel), I did have an STO Economy video nearly done going over all of it with charts and such explaining the situation (e.g. why promo starships aren't on the player exchange anymore). I personally don't think the DilEx is what is going to kill the game on its own, but it is affecting the desire of new F2P players to make more dilithium -- which will affect the long-term economy of STO. I haven' t watched Gauss STO's video, so perhaps he does go into more detail on the other currencies in the game and the inflation issue of STO in general than what your written TLDR assumes. My video won't just go into the fundamental issues of STO Economy, but also how Cryptic Studios can address them with their limited staff & tech in the game currently.

@@CounterYoloGaming -- Gauss STO's video is actually rather short, and lacks significant detail, apart from charting a month's worth of growth on the DillEx's "backlog" of Dill posted for sale -- and then doing a conversion of how much that backlog is in USD . His point is that if this "backlog" continues to grow, Zen purchases form the DilEx will take longer and longer -- proposing that F2P players will not be willing to wait a month(s) for a transaction on the DilEx , which will move even the purchase of the "usual ships for the usual ship Traits" out of the reach of all but the most dedicated F2P-ers . Your notion of connecting EC to the Dill inflation seems ... , well , it's a problem , but it's a very different problem -- something that has been part of the game for so long, I'm not sure it can be fixed . I no longer expect to be able to buy multiple 'premium' ships . That wasn't the case when the first Lockbox ships came about . But that was a long time ago, and the "flipping" culture on the Exchange , along with the lack of meaningful EC sinks have done their thing to separate the STO community into have and have-nots . So instead i choose to do giveaways in my fleet for smaller items (Contraband, Upgrade boosters and the like) instead of participating in the run-away EC economy . But again , for me the EC economy is on the "it is what it is" lane . The Dil (and lack of Zen) on the other hand might change the game into something that may not ultimately be profitable for Cryptic -- as well as create a wide divide between the high end DPS crowd and the new F2P crowd .

If he only covered a month -- that really isn't much of an analysis, especially considering in economics we normally compare the behavior in one month to the same month in previous years (hence why it is taking me a while to make the video). I assumed he was using the same source I'm using that has charted the player exchange pricing & DilEx pricing over time to compare various years' behavior, including when the zen charge bonus decreased in 2020 & the DilEx's sharp increase immediately occurred thereafter (including a fallout of increases in player exchange EC item pricing within a month or so that followed thereafter). EC & Dilithium are different problems, but they are both inter-related & affected by inflation -- and the IRL inflation of the $USD affected Cryptic's decision to change the amount of extra zen to give during zen charge bonus timeframes (as they don't want to change the in-game pricing of items directly, as player backlash is likely to result). Cryptic intentionally decreased the amount of bonus zen people will get with the same $USD, which naturally increased the pricing of dilithium on the DilEx. As the ceiling there is 500:1 (and the actual value of zen is **higher** than 500:1 with lessened supply), it was natural for their decision to drain the amount of zen left there. When it is harder to convert Dil --> Zen --> keys/boxes to sell for EC to get the starship you want on the exchange, supply will be lower and prices have to increase there as well. I think the game will still be profitable for Cryptic as long as regular lobi & lockbox starships can still be sold on the player exchange (as a lot of their profits still derive from lootbox starships). Once the EC inflation hits those starships enough that they are priced out of the player exchange -- to the point you have to do private trades for any T6 starship -- you will see drastic action & improvement occur there.

Having said that ... :p In regards to your interest in : " DilEx pricing over time to compare various years' behavior, including when the zen charge bonus decreased in 2020 " -- while I respect the attempt at a linear / logical view of the situation , I'm not sure that it is especially relevant right now . The way I see it is : once you crossed the Rubicon of 500/1 , Dil is worth as little as the DilEx allows it to be worth . Having 500/1 as a semi-permanent situation makes 'comparisons to various years behavior' almost moot , as those statistics don't offer us a way out of the semi-permanent 500/1 situation . The current question & comparison chart could be : How long do I have to wait until I can convert my 500/1 , and buy some Zen off the DilEx ? This question might be mildly interesting to people who might want to buy some Zen off the DilEx for the upcoming Black Friday for example -- and suddenly find themselves unable to buy Zen off the DilEx . If you want to run some cross references to that , how about : What types of sales/bundles/lockboxes/events were introduced in various months that added / decreased the DilEx backlog , and how did said sales/bundles/lockboxes/events impact on the players ability to buy Zen ? Did they slow down the process ? Did they speed up the process ? Is there some predictability to such situations as "do I have to wait a 3-4 days/week/month/months to get some Zen off the exchange, based on X/Y/Z/W just being introduced onto the game ?" . I expect some Zen infusion into the DilEx around X-Mas & the Anniversary in February. So that may clear up some of the backlog . But knowing cryptic, I also expect them to dangle some new shinys in the game at those times, as they too know that that's when they have ppl returning to the game . All in all, despite KZfaqr 'Gauss STO' covering just one month of the growing Dil backlog in the exchange -- currently that backlog is the #1 enemy -- as from a psychological POV, I don't see a F2P player sticking around more then 2-3 months for a Dil-Zen exchange , which is what I'm talking about when I say that the Zen store might float out of reach for a portion of the player base . And one truth in STO still stands -- the "whales + spenders" need the F2P crowd (and vice versa) . Even if just a small portion of the F2P-ers leave -- add that portion to those who will be removed in Febuary due to Cryptic's refusal to support Windows 7 , and you have a drop in the playerbase, that Cryptic has shown no serious plans to counter. Maybe it won't matter . Maybe it will . I don't know for sure . As to the EC situation -- the first time I noticed off-exchange trading at current prices was when the Krenim Annorax Science Dreadnought was introduced . That set the 1.5-1.8 Billion EC off-exchange price that several ships afterward mimicked . You are probably correct in assuming that with the option of Zen purchase via the DilEx moving out of reach , the competition to purchase ships via EC will grow .
