We had to drive around 40 minutes to a special dog training place that had a "dock diving pool". For a fee they let you rent the pool for an hour. We would have weekly sessions and began by having the dog be comfortable going up/down the side ramp into the water and swimming in the pool (throwing toys and getting in the pool with him to encourage him). Then we began getting him comfortable walking/running on the dock and seeing other more experienced dogs jump off the dock. With lots of encouragement and toys (and sometimes a little push!) we began trying to get him to jump off the dock on his own. Once he was confidently and reliably jumping on his own then we entered him in competitions! (on the AKC, NADD, and DockDogs websites there's a list of upcoming events and entry forms) I recommend calling around local dog training centers and see if someone knows of a place where you can train. Also joining Facebook groups dedicated to the sport and asking for recommendations there too. I also recommend traveling to a nearby dock diving event to watch and talk with people who can help get you started. Hope this helps and good luck!

Well, as I live in Colombia, I don't think there will be contests or academies or practice pools, but, I don't know, maybe in Bogotá, the capital? We'll see. Or maybe we could build one, with artisanal means ; use a normal pool as a diving one... Tell me what you think! Oh sorry I thought you lived in the USA! Sadly I have no idea if dock diving contests or facilities are available in Colombia. Ask around at local dog shows to find out, even if they don't have anything official you can still teach your dog for fun! And you can certainly teach your dog from a regular pool or if you know a place that has a lake with a dock or ledge you can teach them that way as well!

I know both's characters and I don't think so, but it all comes down to the case and where they met! But their personalities don't seem fitting to me.
