Really great daily training and so durable too. Replaced my first pair after 1100km and the outsole was still in great condition which I can't say from the Mach 5 which is my other daily trainer. Agree with you that it's not the best shoe for tempo or speed work but it's possible for sure. Even ran a new 5k PB in it lol. Just bought the new Magic Speed 3 as my tempo shoe.

Came here to watch this video review as my outsole is very worn out and only 140km in 🤔😱.. really like the shoes but can't see how would get anywhere close to 1100kms

i agree with your statement "that shoe bring people to the brand" im get sucked in with the Asiscs whole lineup of running shoes and want to test it all out

Thanks for great video. I have a pair of the black-green lightshows, and they seem to be a "run shield" model; they are handy on colder, wetter, darker days (heavier though).

From what I have seen they are from the 2022 Winter collection while the ones from the video are from the 2023 summer collection.

I love my novablast 3s , my MK1s have 1150 miles on them , it's unbelievable. I've got loads of shoes ( except Nike as the air popping is to big a risk ) , and asics outgun all the other makes for me . Keep running everyone 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

Lol bathrobe guy on the Lime scooter. Keep it classy Spokane!😅. I’ve been curious to try this shoe as I love the Superblast and it’s been my go to shoe especially for long runs. ASICS does seem to have it going on with their foams these days

is this an upgrade from the Pegasus 39? I don't think I'll be waiting for the 41's as I wanna step away from the do-it-all type shoes... and lean more towards running. But one step at a time though... don't wanna jump off to some crazy super cushiony shoes... so... will these do the bill? THANKS!

You might like the squishiness of this one. It certainly does have a more significant difference between this and the Peg series. I’d say a good transition shoe currently would be the Novablast 4 (which still offers plenty of comfort while not being marshmallowy soft)The 4 should be more of a subtle transition than that of the Novablast 3.

Love the novablast 3 for daily runs and rotate it w the adidas boston 12 for intervals and tempo runs.

I’ve got 350 miles on my NB3. The ride has noticeably deteriorated for me after around 300 miles. Trying to limp them along to 400 before retirement.

What's up with Asics Novablast v3 and the LE (version?) the heel are different. 1 has the elf ear and a pull tab. The other has a more cushioned heel.

I loved the novablast 1 so much i bought 2 of them, and I actually love them for long runs. How would you say the v1 compares with the v3 for long easy runs with a few marathon paced miles inserted?

I would say the v3 is much more forgiving for those longer distances. I did a 20 mile long run in last year’s marathon training block in the v1. It created some residual issues. Whereas, I trust the v3 significantly more for those distances and will be using them for the longer miles in this training block. Hope that helps!

Which is better between this and nimbus 25 and kayano 30? Coz I didn’t really enjoy the novablast 2, it made my feet and leg sore…

Sorry to ask a question with a question but though it’s worth clarifying first, do you need stability in your shoes? The Kayano is a stability trainer whereas the Nimbus is a neutral shoe.

@@timetorunchannel I’m not sure but I don’t have a flat feet , so do I need stability? Coz when I wear novablast 2 it feels unstable and hurts my feeel and leg after 5k , also I’m 90kg..I usually do gym workouts plus outdoor running for about 5~10k for cardio

No, you don’t necessarily need stability. It’s just that of the two you asked about, the Kayano 30 is a stability shoe whilst the Nimbus 25 is a neutral shoe. There is a decent segment of runners that have the same opinion as you - where they feel like the Novablast line just isn’t stable enough to begin with. So you’re not crazy for thinking the shoe feels unsteady. What’s a running shoe you’ve loved in the past?

I loved Novablast 1 and 2. The 3 is fine but have to say that the Saucony Speed 3 is just more adaptable and can do absolutely everything. It means I just pull the Novablast out to rest the Saucony’s

These are Marathon shoes and also Ultramarathon 50-100Km shoes weighing around 70-73 kg and anyone who says no either doesn't understand anything or has never tried them seriously.

That’s great. I’m glad they have worked for you in those areas. It helps to build a more wholistic understanding in the running community. And I appreciate you being really specific about your personal experience with the shoes. You’re right, in that, like any shoe, you can do whatever you want in them. I personally still wouldn’t recommend it. But I’m just one person, with one opinion. There’s no debate in my mind whether or not people have used these for the marathon. It’s clear, like yourself, they do. But, functionally it’s not something I could make a recommendation on based upon my expertise or for runners who are, generally speaking, in a similar place as me. As with any review, the purchaser will be their own judge of how a pair of shoes works for them. I’m simply here to hopefully sharpen the aperture in the decision making process. I'll just tell you that I finished a 100km in just over 9 hours and before with the Mizuno Rider I always ended up with torn quadriceps, but then I realized that one of the main causes is the drop 12 which makes the leg work incorrectly because it protects your tendons, but at the same time the upper part of the thigh works for 2. Then the Novablast have an exceptional roll and are very comfortable especially for those, like me, who have a wide foot in front. Exceptional shoes for long distances on the road!@@timetorunchannel

i’m looking into buying these for marathon training and i’m probably going to race in these too, how have they worked for you? do they slow you down?

On the contrary, they make you go faster! Except that at the beginning you have to tame them, a bit like a wild horse because you feel like you're hopping because you're not used to receiving the push they give when you roll and take off your foot! Believe me, if you can understand them for what they're worth, you won't give them up anymore, especially for Ultramarathon races where they are phenomenal. For a marathon, however, I recommend the Magic Speed with steel plate, but try them first because if your foot is a little in front ' wide you need an extra number! Try it, then tell me!@@chad2869
