Novak Djokovic: In Pursuit Of Greatness - An Origins Series
As the third man in a remarkable trio, Novak Djokovic hasn’t always been the crowd favourite. His style of play is less artistic than Federer’s and not as buccaneering as Nadal’s, and his personality, which seems a mixture of professor and warrior, isn’t one that everyone relates to. But in terms of consistency of dominance over the past decade, Djokovic has been the oustanding player.
And in terms of back-story, he has had to overcome far more obstacles than his contemporaries.

Djokovic will never be loved in the West like the Western golden boy Federer. But who cares? He's objectively the better tennis player, it can be proven entirely objectively, and that's what will stand the test of time no matter what his haters say.

Ever since I started watching/playing tennis Djokovic has been my favorite. Went from him being an occasional threat to Fedal to being the GOAT. It’s been an amazing career to watch so far and he’s still got plenty left to play.

He cemented his GOAT status with RG2021. Double career slam, along with winning ALL the Masters twice, plus the "Novak Slam", weeks at number 1. Grand slam wins against Phillipousis, and Bagdhatis, don;t make you GOAT. And Nadal's clay court preference make him too much of a one sided player. Djokovic is GOAT. And that's that.

Idk but to me djokovic has the best story of the 3 legends, and his background is more relatable for us common folks or the underprivileged, which makes up the majority of the world (but not the tennis fans population, I guess that's the problem). Fedal are both from pretty comfortable and affluent background but he had to fight and overcome so much more on the journey. That defiance to the masses and the "fcuk you" attitude to any hate and hardship really grew on me over the years. I feel like if tennis is a more commoners sport instead of an elitist sport, he'd be much more popular

Proud to be Serbian because of Novak! Only the people with a big and pure heart will understand what was he going trough while growing up. As a little kid in country that survived a lot of things, a country that is not very popular and not presented as a beautiful and important one in mainstream media. It's very easy to judge, before you really try to understand, educate and than accept the truth! That's why Nole is the GOAT! He knows the best what made him number one, and that's exactly why he always stays grounded and down to earth. Beside that he is the most talented tennis player ever, what also makes him the best is his pure heart, his honesty, great spirit and energy, non jealousy and love he offers to human kind. Love you, Serbian people are very proud of you! 🥰 And thank you for this video, i am glad that people from the whole world can finally see it.

Damn boy. You put some work in on this. Lol! You are the GOAT of comment stats. Here is the simplest way to look at the Goat debate. If your life depended on a player winning a tennis match on a randomly chosen surface, EVERYONE knows who EVERYONE would have playing for them. Some may not like it and others may not be willing to admit it but if you value life, Novak is playing for you. Respectfully, Fed is a fantastic player and a pleasure to watch. Rafa is truly the king of clay and a tennis beast who gives his heart to the game. But when push comes to shove and you need the best all around tennis player ever to win you a match, there is and always will be only one choice. Novak.

I generally like the video but the deliberate stab at the Serbs by mentioning that he grew up on a Kopaonik mountain that borders with Kosovo is so obvious that it screams political provocation. Why did you have to mention that at all? Why not just say he grew up on a famous sking/vacation resort in Serbia? What possible value does mentioning of Kosovo add to this video? If the mountain was by some chance near Romania would you then mention Romania in the same context? The optimist in me would like to think that this was not intentional and that you are just not familiar at all with the recent history of the region, but the realist in me has seen it far too many times to take it as a coincidence.

quoting kyrgios, a guy who never won anything worth mentioning, in a video clip about djokovic is a blasphemy. also, belgrade isn't in the central part of serbia, its more toward the north. kopaonik is even more off. also, wtf with that photoshopped picture of novak as a kid and torn picture of novak and jelena gencic, as if they got into a fight or something? xD also, i expected this to be about why novak is goat, not about novak's life, but ok. i can't believe that so many people had to make this and it ended up half-baked. i mean, at least you tried, it's not awful. no downvotes. ;)
