Filipino here. Ube is pronounced "ooh-beh" (The "e" isn't silent). The plant is naturally purple in color and has an earthy, but mild taste. Ube can be hard to find outside of the Philippines because it takes around 6 months for the plant to have a root that can be harvested. This is why countries outside the Philippines use dehydrated ube or artificial ube flavoring as a substitute.

Nova looks especially smart in this video, and it feels like her rebirth is catching up with Magical Dita's rebirth! Olympia is still on her game with witty remarks, though. In regard to video content, I genuinely thought that "I only the crumbliest, flakiest chocolate" was a Novympia original, but apparently it's from an old Cadbury's ad, so thank you for a nudge in the right direction. RANCH PRO TIP: Season some chicken with the ranch power, salt and pepper to taste, and then bake it as you usually would (for additional heat add some cayenne pepper). It's so simple and yet so good for every kind of chicken... dark meat/white meat, chicken tenders, or a whole roast chicken. It's a super simple, classic American home cook dish that like 50% of the country has at least once a week. Serve with steamed vegies and some sriracha for dipping. Sriracha + ranch is a match made in heaven.

Trader Joe's carries the best rosewater facial spray I have ever used. If you can manage to elbow your way through the hippies and old people, it's totally worth the trip.

I am so happy to settle in with this video. You two are my weekly pick-me-up and TJ is my happy place. We lived three blocks from one during the pandemic and it killed me not to be able to wander over there as I did often-even with nothing specific to buy. A couple of times, we hired someone to shop for us using a list, but the first day I was “safe” after my first two vaccines, I walked to TJ and the small Target across the street. In the end, my husband had to bring the car because I could not carry all the bags. We just moved. Best TJ in the area (the one we lived by was just about the worst), but not in walking distance. I wish I could still walk, regardless of how dingy and dinky the store. Enjoy! And thank you for perking up my Sunday. The moment you picked up the box and I thought I saw a package of Bamba, I screamed like a twit. One of my favorite treats from The Joe.

I was intrigued to see the reactions to snacks from my favorite grocery store. I liked both of the apple cider vinegar drinks but they were an acquired taste for sure. TJs has been doing lots of ube purple yam stuff lately I noticed. The Scandinavian swimmers were so delicious! So was the cookie butter spread. I have some of this stuff in my home as we speak.

@@Novympia oh no, I just can't deal haha. My Boyfriend has been doing this for 24 years (intentionally to wind me up) and also moves pictures on the wall so they're wonky. I just can't, so when we moved I didn't put any pictures up in the new house. But every time he walks past the tea towel on the oven door he slides it along so it all bunches up and I shudder even thinking about it. Weird I know.
