Try running without a gas cap, might be a problem with vacuum building up in the gas tank.

Rafa put a cigar in the gas tank. The tobacco leaf un-rolled and covers the pickup tube while running. Then floats away with it off/no suction. And will run fine till it sucks the leaf back onto the pick up.. Ps: idk, my dad told me this a while ago...

Dang Doug! That's why I still just stare at my Subaru in the driveway with the motor roughly 14 ft from it on the ground. Only got to enjoy my FXT for a few months before motor started misfiring. 😢 it is a 2004 though. One day

The only car show I went to this year I parked mine and when I went to leave my fuel pump went on strike. On a positive note, that McIntosh radio looked swell sitting in the dash as you were broke down.

Fuel filter is clogged most likely. That fuel pump is way to loud when you first turn on the key, then it starts to quiet down after you can get some fuel through the system to start it

Very interesting, maybe the pump isn't bad. It's just starving. There's a blockage somewhere in the fuel cell.

It could be a loud pump if it’s just hard mounter directly onto metal hangar or chassis doesn’t mean it’s necessarily struggling but it could anything’s possible. It’s always a good idea to use a rubber isolator around the mount

Lookin good Doug, but please fix that wobbly steering wheel and check those adapter lug nuts. I am thinking it is all of the old fuel that was in your tank. It craped out your fuel pump and now you probably have dirty / clogged injectors.

To me the engine sounded wrong from the start. I heard it missing right from the first time you started it. I would also check the ignition! Something is off.

I wired those same lights in a c10 and found all those different modes, I have had similar problems with a MAF, if you have one sometimes you can disconnect it and the ecu will still run, but i thought you had that on a megasquirt with speed density

Fun fact! Ethanol eats foam!! They make resistant foam for todays crappy gas. We had the same thing happen to our fuel cell. And a buddys as swell.

Just to be on the safe side you should replace the starter and get a high torque model meant for a big block with high compression.

the gas cap comment is possible but I noticed your air filter is right on the throttle body. The subies use a MAF in the late 90s mid 2000s to . unless you are using a MAP tune maybe it's going into open loop fueling when it can't measure the incoming air correctly ?

Is the tank fully sealed? You might be pulling vacuum and holding the fuel back.

Did you clean the fiel tank? Did you blow out fuel line? Did you change fuel filter? Did you put fuel cleaner through the lines? Any time a engine bogs means lack of fuel.

either the foam was cloging it up when its breaking apart, or some type of vapor lock, I had to run a tank vent on my fuel cell to prevent it locking up when the fuel got warm on my shit box lol

Use purple or yellow green frog tape for delicate surfaces. Lot better than scotch blue tape

That's your o2 sensor and possibly contamination in your fuel filter. If it boggs when you gas it really quick, than that's it. I had that issue on my truck. Also check your MAF

quick ergonomic tip on tightening lug nuts, put the torque wrench at the 10 or 11 o clock position and pull towards you. We are naturally stronger at pulling than pushing and you keep a more upright torso angle.

Not gonna lie, the tbird had the same issue, it bogged down every time I touched the throttle and I went from parking lot to parking lot and limped it home. The next day it ran fine. WHAT KINDA CURSE YOU PUT ON YOUR VEHICLES DOUG??!!

A quick side of the road trick you can do if you ever find yourself in the same situation as Douglas here is to take off your air filter and spray brakleen up the intake. NOT starting fluid but brakleen its a little less fire starting. But spray it up the intake and start it and keep spraying and rev it up to see if it does rev or do the same die and sputter thing. Even if your car wont start this works also to tell if its a fuel issue or something electrical. The brakleen replaces the fuel so if it starts and runs then you know that the electrical side is good. If it does not start then you know its electrical because the fuel is the spray and you are shooting it directly in there. Its a quick easy trick to cut your diagnostic in half more or less.

Its probably that ethanol shit they put in the fuel nowadays that disolved the foam. Everything that is getting green stops working like it is supposed to. Thx for the great videos by the way. Keep it up! 👊

Yeah good call. If he's running an aftermarket fuel cell with foam baffling, ethanol dissolves that stuff and clogs up everything with goo. Lines, filters, pumps, injectors, everything.

It’s the MAP Sensor at the top of the intake manifold replace it and the problem will go away

Try the 3m yellow automotive refinish masking tape...may help eliminate some cleanup time at marginally higher cost

Foam in a gas tank that deteriorates and contaminates the fuel system. Sounds like a guaranteed fuel system failure. I think some baffles in the tank would be better. Time to upgrade the fuel tank. Don't worry Doug, even the worst car guy can be better than ripitup rawlings.

Having replaced 3 or 4 fuel pumps, I'd say your dirty fuel broke the fuel pump. But I guess you know that already. Also, just based on the sound your pump was making
