Well, I guess it would win in both situations. Either they would have been jailed or it had the chance to eat them, so the kids planning to stop it would practically be immobilized.

@@ryangamble6697 yeah, how can you put a house to sleep with sleeping drugs? It’s an inanimate object powered by an angry spirit. And the house is no dope. She could’ve pretended she ate the sleeping pills, pretended to fall asleep, and wait for the unsuspecting kids to waltz up trying to kill her and eat them.

@@pineforest1442 My point exactly. Ironically I'd say those cops saved their lives. Plus based on the video game and deleted scenes, even if they got inside their water guns wouldn't have put out the fire.

Probably the scariest scene in the movie. Especially around 3:22 where she starts eating literally EVERYONE. And dear god of all things holy that face at 3:53 is the most terrifying thing ever seen in a kids movie!

Your forgetting about the cat in the hat from the 2003 film I found that to be more creepy the house is not even scary or creepy although some of my friends from were actually scared of the house when they were little but I told them there is nothing to be scared of the house won't get you

I honestly think this movie deserves a prequel. I would love to know more about the flashback along with constance. Like was she abused? Did she had a bad childhood? Nebbercracker was also a soldier as there’s a pic of him and his crew. Possibly WW2 or Vietnam??? What if he wanted to save Constance but didn’t have the money to do it so he fought in war? And after all that that’s when he’s able to help her out and build a house together.

This was one of my favorite movies when I was little, but I didn't understand that the funny parts were funny. My parents say, but I have no memory of this, but I could recite the whole movie, almost. Aurora and Snow White and the seven dwarfs were all movies I could also recite, but horror runs in my family. Everything I should have been scared of as a kid intrigued me, and the things every child loved and even the sound of Babadook, even though I had no idea what it was, scared the living daylight out of me.

I think it's more so to match the rest of the house since it's all animated in low frame rates to make it seem more unnatural and spooky which makes sense given that this is literally a possessed house that mimics a human almost
