Look at Yujo's circles when he fires purple and compare them to when Gojo does. Gojo's circles always overlap, Yujo's don't. Purple is going to missfire.

The fact that people think Gege Akutami won't stick to his word is pretty funny. Remember, all but Yuji survives OR ONLY YUJI survives. Yuta and Toge are just sacrifices in my opinion, when Kashimo died I personally had the realization that as an author Gege Akutami is "toeing the line" so people believe Sukuna might lose to the group. This is an underdog story, if Gojo represents Collectivism and Sukuna represents Individualism, the underdog would be Sukuna's Ideology. Collectivism has BEEN LOSING, the most Circular form of story telling would have Yuji win as an individualist and then herald in an age of collectivism as the new King. King of what though?

It could be that only Yugi survives AND all but Yuji survives. Everyone but Yuji dies, then Yuji or someone else defeats Sukuna, then the culling game ends with everyone merging into that one massive and powerful cursed spirit, everyone is already dead or something. Yuji then activates his domain expansion (perhaps in a fight or not), which would thematically be the opposite of Sukunas. Aka instead of literally destroying everything, it will heal everything. Aka sacrificing himself to revive everyone that died... ...surrounded by a bunch of people that love him and are grateful to him. Fulfilling several themes and goals of the protag at once (giving people proper deaths, dying while surrounded by people because he helped others, etc) while still sticking to Gete's word AND still surprising the audience.

It's been shown to us that twin's are omens and that when one dies the other receives what has been kept from them. Sukuna ate his brother's body and became whole. His grandfather's wishes as well as Kashimo's wishes before they both died were CURSES/BINDING VOWS. We haven't seen what happens when a binding vow is broken which has also been alluded to. I think we should all just be expecting a rug pull and work with the information we've been given. If Yuji dies after everyone else dies he'll be breaking the binding vow's imposed on him. Grandpa's First & then Kashimo's due to the consequences of him breaking the first. We may just see him become an even worse calamity.

The difference between Sukuna and everyone else including Gojo is his understanding of the world and curse energy. He's the only one we've seen that uses everything to his disposal and uses it well, Cursed energy, DE, Cursed Tools, RCT, ANNDDD Binding Vow. Haven't seen anyone bust binding vows in .1s. he seems to always have an out.

Kenjakus question had nothing to do with his hard work playing a role in him being the strongest. It was kenjaku challenging what Gojo stood for anf his identity. It’s why Gojo was saying he needs to catch up before he killed the higher ups. He’s finally accepted his identity as Satoru Gojo who is also the strongest sorcerer and is trying to make his ideals come true rather than be someone who is seen as just the strongest sorcerer.
