A visit to the rather excellent #NQ64 arcade bar in the centre of Bristol. Well worth a visit if only for the #OutRun2, #SegaRally and Chase HQ 2 cabinets alone!

Ahhhh, I never realised you were Italian before. I absolutely love your country! I've been to Venice a couple of times and spent a birthday in Rome. Did a lovely driving trip a few years back with 5 of my mates around Pisa, Florence, San Gimignano, Bologna and finishing up with a few days relaxing around Cinque Terre at the end. Whenever I do the OG Outrun 2 course D and you finish off the goal outside the pantheon, it always reminds me of happy Italian holiday memories 😍

Being in the bar at night is definitely young man's game, although you can handily beat them at Outrun 2.

Absolutely **PHENOMENAL** video dude!!!! One of your best to date. Looks like you guys had way too much fun! I'm seriously jealous. I wish I lived in Bristol lol. Yeah, being able to play and experience the real ORSP cab must have been great. The game is such a treasure even now in 2023. Just makes me feel fortunate and happy that we get to play the game at home via TP. It's funny you brought up seeing the Panzer Dragoon at the bunker. I don't know about SP, but in SP DX I swear I have triggered some other "animals" that I've never seen before. The other day I got some other dragon-like creature that kinda resembled Panzer Dragoon but looked way cooler and I had NEVER seen it before in any of the home versions. I also saw some white unicorns, which again...was a first for me. Crazy how these were omitted from the home versions. Also big props for showcasing the Pac-man Battle Royal arcade machine. I had never seen footage of one before and it looks like a lot of fun! I don't know if you're using a new camera these days but the footage this time was incredibly clear, colorful and sharp! Very impressive! Made me feel like I was almost there! On a side note....phuq yew t00b and their BS c0pywright crap. Absolutely rubbish and I really hate what this place has turned into. Cheers mate, glad you enjoyed it! I can confirm the Unicorns are in the home versions. Usually, if you can get through the 1st stage without hitting anything or coming off the road you'll get generic green Dragon. If you can then get through the next stage and do the same, you'll either get the Panzer Dragoon Orta flyby or the Unicorns - I don't know what the deciding factor is though as to what triggers one over the other, I'm guessing it must be time related (the Unicorns trigger more often for me, I've only got the PD flyby twice). There's actually a bug in the PC port of Coast 2 Coast (I think it's in the other versions too), where if you trigger the Unicorns, the clippity clop and neighing noises they make doesn't stop and just repeats on loop until you reach the goal. There's also an airship animation I've triggered once in the whole time I've been playing the game. It was in time attack and I've never figured out how to trigger it again. There's also a jet fighter I've seen like twice. So bizarre that all these cool things are so rare or hard to repeat and all I generally see each time are the birds!

@@MrThunderwing Yes you are correct! I' regularly trigger the seagulls and the flock of birds, and can get Panzer to come out frequently as well. But the Unicorns and *especially* the AfterBurner jet are quite rare indeed. The airship I think I've only seen once or twice. Who knows what else is in there. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a flying Sonic or the Jester from Nights or something crazy like that lmao.

Wow it's the holyland for me, what a Bar...great great video, and as an Outrun obsessed too (i payed a fortune for Arcade 1up Outrun), it was one more nice tribute for that cult icone. If i was a milionaire i would buy the 8 link cabs of Outrun 2 with their back Ferraris replicas as i saw in Japan. Thanks for sharing😎.

Yeah bwoi!!! Likewise, if I win the lottery I'd definitely get one of those huge 8 player Outrun 2 SPSDX setups. I've been tempted by the A1Up OutRun, but I don't really have the space for it, and it seems a bit of a ballache to import one to the UK. Are you enjoying your one? 👍

@@MrThunderwing Yes, it still awesome, it's almost family. It had to come from Us by Ebay. I don't know why this specific cab can't be sold in Europe. The graphics of Outrun and Turbo Outrun have been redrawn, but they looks just great anyway just like Outrunners Power Drift and Rad Rally. The only negative thing to point are the pedals that are very fragile and if we are not careful they can break. That's why it's hard to get to the end of some games.

Nice video AL Ive been to the original NQ64 in the north quarter, manchester about 3yrs ago and it was very small compared to this one. it was in a basement, but it had 90s hiphop playing the whole time along with most of the same games that were in this video along with some other. They are a great experience and i kept one of the coin tokens as a memento. But yeah the two floors of this one looks like alot more space and more room around. Love it. I do wonder where they get the cabs from as alot of these machines cant be very available now these days surely. good to see you had fun though

Cheers mate! Yeah, I was really quite surprised at just what a good selection of games they had and the fact that all the arcade racers were in good working order. The actual music in the bar itself was mostly awful, no 90's hip hop, but lots of current chart urban stuff (don't even know what genre you'd class it as, grime...?). Which was not to my taste. There was some occasional cool funk and soul stuff, I got particularly excited when an old Chaka Khan song came on that I really like 😁

@@MrThunderwing I guess the bristol crew arent up for 90s hiphop then, I can imagine you had a boogie to chaka khan though. Yeah i think the machines tend to be looked after cos no dickheads go in either if that makes sense.

Nice one Al, I've been meaning to get myself down there since it opened! I actually registered as a volunteer tester before it opened when they were advertising for testers on IG, but they never responded :( Looks worth a visit at a quieter time though!

It's definitely worth a visit! Three of my favourite arcade racers in one single venue is pretty awesome. I think a daytime visit is definitely going to be in order for me next time...

Thanks! Yeah, I'd love to be able to find somewhere with an SPDX set-up locally, I've never seen one in real life. I think Arcade Club in Leeds has some, but they're about a 3 hour drive from me.

Great video, but I was surprised to hear irritation about visiting them on likely the busiest day and time of the week. Including bashing the customer base. Maybe talk to them on a slow day and offer a privately filmed walk through for them. Remember those busy nights and customers you dont care for keep arcades alive!

Riiiight.....I think you're jumping to the wrong conclusion here. I wasn't bashing the customer base in the video, I was just explaining that there were a lot of guys there who were 20 years younger than me, who'd consumed a typical amount of booze for a Saturday night and I didn't want to accidentally cause any of them to kick off by sticking a camera in their face. I certainly didn't begrudge any of the other patrons being there, they were there for the same reason me and the big group of lads I went with were there - to have fun. Getting some footage of the arcade cabinets to make a video was a secondary concern.

The Tekken definitely was, you can tell in the video by the strobey CRT effect when it's filmed. I can't recall, off the top of my head, what time in the video I feature the SF2 cabinet, but if the picture looks strobey and weird it's a CRT, if it looks clear on the video it'll be an LCD screen.

Can't recall seeing a Guitar Hero, but they had one of those Dance games (it was in a bit of the bar that was sort of sectioned off from the rest - didn't really want to poke my camera in there whilst a couple of girls were jumping up and down on it).
