I have received IT notices on my NRE deposits. We don't need to declare NRE deposits and interest on those as NRE deposits are tax free as per the IT law. It's shame that IT depart doesn't know this basic law....We are scaring to invest in India because of these incidents...

Good job Sai. Please do a video for US citizens and US Permanent Residents who want to invest in indian stock market. IRS valla PFIC gurinchi explain cheyyandi. We are USC and if we invest in Mutual Funds, ETS or ULIPs we will be taxed on unrealized gains which is ridiculous. The only exception is if we invest into stocks we pay cap gains on realized gains.

As a US NRI we don't have much options in mutual funds... We have only few fund houses to invest but I'm in parag parikh flexi cap from past 5 years and generated good wealth... Recently a good news is Quant mutual funds are accepting US NRI's and that's welcoming.... Stock investing is still a complex issue having PIS / Non-PIS account but thanks to Zerodha they were atleast helping in streamlining the process and guiding through out the account opening process.

What about Indian Origin foreign citizens (OCIs) living in India? They became residents after 6 months stay in India. What rules and regulations apply to them? Many have ancestral properties and investments here. Please make a video on them. Your channel provides excellent content, keep it up!

I don't OCI becomes Indian citizen after 6 months stay. Yes, they may become eligible for Indian Citizen. So , OCI becomes citizen only after the successful completion of the application

@@Amarnath0880 There is a difference between being resident of India and being a citizen of India. After living in India for 6 months, an OCI holder becomes a resident; not a citizen. They can still retain their foreign citizenship and live in India as resident Overseas Citizen of India (OCI). I was asking rules and regulations for OCIs .

ours is democracy. during modi regime last 10 years no debate nor interaction with different segments what they are proposing & taking recommendations. The same bjp Mr Yashwant Sinha as Finance Minister in Vajpayji Cabinet used to interact with gross roots, industry, transport, stock brokers, regulators etc., and understood accordingly policies were made. modi say ease of doing business , but hurdles of doing business were more for the Business man in India. Hi Sai garu, I am US NRI. currently holding acct with Zerodha. status not updated yet. once the status is updated on pancard, is there any broker /app which you can suggest. Zerodha , groww are not supporting USNRI any more. Tried to contact SBNRI but service is very poor. Apart from investing directly on AMC website, is there any broker/app where i can continue investing in stocks and mf. also what happens to existing investments after status change to NRI? please help.
