Just wanted to check on one thing. Let’s say a person is staying and earning abroad as an NRI for the last four years and paying taxes in the foreign country. The person leaves the country in July and comes back to India after paying all the taxes due in Singapore. This way he becomes a resident Indian in India as he is in india for more than 183 days in 2024-25. Will the income earned in Singapore for which tax has already been paid in Singapore will also be taxed again in India or not I.e. when the person files the return for 2024-25 will he include the Singapore income too? The singapore income is purely from singapore sources as salary and nothing from India.

NRI having FD 1 crore @ 7.25 %. Which is better option how much tax need to be paid. Please advise.

New regime will be beneficial to you, if you only have FD Interest Income. Your Total Income for the year 2023-24 will come to Rs.7,50,000/- on which you you need to pay tax of Rs.31,200/-, which would have alaready dedcuted by the respective bank in the form of TDS. any extra TDS that has been deducted by you can be claimed as refund by filing ITR-2. So, In overall New Tax Regime is Beneficial for you

Anyone pls explain, for NRIs if income is only through dividends. Which doc needs to refer & where can i get it which helps me to file ITR where i will not get form16
