Great comment, that is very true. We do include a lanyard loop on the knife. It's hard to see, but its located near the end of the knife, by the bottle opener.

If you are a sea kayaker, have to do a wet exit, and you get tied up in something, does it really make sense to have a knife which takes time to unfold? I suppose you could leave it open once you get on the water, but then there is no safety sheath

would be a great knife if it had a loop in it, to tether it to ones body. dropping a knife in white water, during a hectic situation is likely.
