the uks steam locos were incredible but at the end of the day purely from a logical standpoint they were too complicated expensive and time consuming. once we got to the age of diesels and about as far as the HST nothing has really improved. looking at the class 800 series its probably gone backwards. its British built stock and locos all the way for me nothing else comes close.

Where once there were proud steam locomotives and branch lines, now there are faulty new trains and strike threats

Some locos are making a comeback. For example, a SAR 15F was recently restored to running condition, now bearing the name 'City of Bloemfontein'

They worked so hard for towns, buildings, houses to be built and help the goverment trade with other countries or companies, just to make them deliver materials for the new diesels and to be replaced.

Stop dreaming. Steam aint coming back to regular rail travel because steam is slower and more dangerous ( BOILER GO KABLOWEY )

Love this vid - have seen in multiple times a day all week. The shot at 1:02 is pure kino when the siderods move in time with the music. Always cool to see nostalgic videos of railways other than Britain and America.
