Mary and Aretha (at the very minimum) both have the to sing( carry a note) but neither one of them have much vocal talent beyond that. When did I give Mary " props"? Learn to read and comprehend.

Both were talented children. While Countess did sing him down, I'm not surprised to learn Jarrod went on to do well on Broadway as he had a lot of stage presence here, and was quite the little performer. Countess, Countess, Countess...she was truly incredible for her age. So poised and seasoned for a kid! I hate that the industry never knew what they had in her as an actress or singer. Give her her flowers!

Jarrod Spector was a cute singer, but not a very good singer. He probably would have been better if he trained his voice. I'd have given him a 3 to be generous, but he deserved a 2. Countess Vaughn did great and sang with passion. 4 from me. For 9 years old, she did wonderful.

Jarrod and Countess both achieved success. You can see on his face that he was about to cry. She was so excited to win. Love these throwback videos. You win some, you lose some. That’s entertainment. Gotta develop a thick skin early on so you can handle grown ups looking crazy as hell making fun of you losing.

Little white boy made it all the way to Star Search because "aw, he's adorable and cute when he TRIES to sing" ...a.k.a. white boy privilege (ya'll know I'm right - this has been going on for centuries) - It was his FIFTH APPEARANCE??? WOW! Countess came on and blew...him...away!!!! And then the little talent-less white boy who got this far just by being "cute" never stood a chance! LOL! Gotta give him credit that he held it together when he lost, because you KNOW he didn't see that one coming, having won everything up to that point just by getting by on his cuteness...and by being white.
