Mutants, Raiders, ruins, all kinds of factions fighting each other (as if there's not enough death already 🙈), you need to collect everything you can find and as much you can carry, to trade in towns. Sell everything you don't need. Weapons, ammunition, armor and meds will save your live on your journey to find your son.

I have a couple of thousand hours under my belt. You would be well advised to watch a few 'walkthroughs' to get a more comprehensive feel for the gameplay. You missed a LOT of things that are absolutely necessary if you're going to survive in the Commonwealth. My immediate tip? Use the green crosshairs in the middle of the display to aim at enemies; there is no autoaim.

@@flamethrower82 I've heard, originally, fo3 was supposed to be in NYC, but due to the size and scale of it, it was replaced by D.C. and parts of MD and VA. You start south of the Potomac though, around Tysons or a bit northwest. Maybe even Pimmit Hills judging by the roads. The more west you go, the less accurate it becomes. I've heard that there were multiple areas in D.C. cut. (Around half.) I wish they didn't because it was a very interesting area to explore. I hope they do NYC next.

this game is such a classic! I must have several hundred hours' clocked on it. My wife loved watching the adventure unfold too so it was a lot of fun! I love the 50s "world of tomorrow" hopeful vibes combined with the run-down post-apoc aesthetic... I can't wait to see you get comfortable with this kind of gameplay. It really is a game that rewards you for exploring, reading _everything_ and just getting soaked in all the lore they created for us!

I liked seeing you play, always a pleasure to see a person discover more of the gaming world... I would've been very interested to know little details, like, was it realistic to see the mushroom from so close ? (laughed a lot when you talked about the thumb test) How would you expect 200 years to affect a previously irradiated area ? Give us intellectual foooood
@thoriated
@thoriated 8 ай бұрын
The time between the flash and shock wave is 10.8 seconds, so the blast is about 2.25 miles away. Heat, x, and γ radiation travel at the speed of light, arriving with the visible flash. Game lore says most bombs were 250 to 750 Kt. At that distance everyone on the platform would have 3rd degree burns, charred and blistered, on exposed skin and be blinded by the flash.

A problem I see a lot when people play these games is they assume the default movement controls are suitable for new players, but they aren't. If you set looking left and right to the left stick and strafing to the right stick. It makes getting around and aiming simpler as it doesn't divide movement and looking as much.. Having to coordinate movement and looking to seperate controls is just ridiculous.
@Krakaet

This is why I stopped playing console games early on in my gaming career. One thumb stick for movement and another for looking divides attention way too much!

aiming can be a little tricky but just wait till you get the power armor and minigun (which wont be long) that makes things a bit easier for new gamers! by the way to make things just slightly more easy for you, enter V.A.T.S by pressing L1 on the controller then it will "lock on" to the enemy and you can select where to shoot them and how many times to shoot.

You need to react to the opening cinematic for Fallout 4. They talk quite a bit about nuclear energy Edit. You realized the most important part just as you left the Vault. VaultTec was behind everything. And better to do a VATs build, press R1 I think while in combat

love how serious you take it i play this game on pc with keyboard and mouse , to see it on console the controls look awkward and clumsy, its also wierd to see someone scared of pixel cockroaches then the moments of disbelief at the forced experiments and freezing ect , yea games go everywhere we dont want to think authorities are so immoral /capable of going in real life and yet we wouldnt be surprised that console at the overseers office has all the story about what that vault was actually for on it, theres many vaults, many experiments
