@@justinpachi3707honestly it doesn’t feel like that huge of a shift to me. Also it feels kinda realistic ngl. Aegon is in like his very early twenties right? Alot of people seem believe Aegon is upset because he lost his son but i think there's alot more than that, he lost his chance to be a father I don't think prior to being king Aegon ever cared for his sister wife and children When he finally became so suddenly he realized he had a son and wanted him to be raised as a proper. So eger to raise him as a proper heir in a way his father and mother never did. He wanted to bring him to council meetings even though hes just 4. Aegon only was now beginning to realize the importants of raising his heir and that chance was taken away from him too soon and he's so distraught over never being given that chance to be a good father. That expression aegon gives looking at the table has so many emotions to it, Anger, sadness and regret. All in just one frame. Thats how damn good the actor played this moment.

In spite of his flaws, Aegon did love his son and wanted to make an effort with him in ways that Viserys never did with him. His outrage is more than justified here, and Otto truely is a disgusting man in his desire to use Jaehaerys' murder as a political power play. Logical? Probably so. Is it in bad taste? Yes. Body isn't even cold and Otto already had a plan to use this for his needs and wants. That's downright disgusting.

@@Fireground42I doubt that’s the reason. In a show where sons regularly call their fathers, “My Lord-father”, I doubt the writers thought it would be absurd of or for Otto to refer to his great-grandson as his great-grandson, especially given the context. Otto was not addressing Jaehaerys directly and personally. He describing/ referring to his relationship to Jaehaerys. It’s much more likely the writers just forgot. You want to talk about absurd. The pretzels into which fans of the show twist themselves in order to defend every little thing is absurd. 😂
