My 300CE W124 Mercedes had a cloth interior.. beloved by some but not by me. Leather makes a huge difference to the way these cars feel and in this video I am swapping out the whole interior and changing the very scratched glass!!

That interior does make it look so much better and the transformation this car has gone thru is epic. Hopefully the "Bismerc" stays around for a while.

Amazing - the interior looks fantastic. With a bit of leather filling and re-dye it will be mint !! Love these longer vids where we get to see exactly what work is involved to get to the finished result 🙂

I had a W124T (manual) when my first child was born with a cloth interior pretty much like yours. Subsequently I have had an S210, S211 and my current S212, all autos and crucially all leather. Kids and cloth seats do not go together, leather looks and feels much more high end. The bismerc looks superb now.

For really cheap you can buy a set of plastic panel pullers and wedges etc and save on using metal screw drivers etc on plastic parts. Looks so much better after the change.

Thank you! This is amazing. I was looking for this kind of a tutorial for a loooong time! 100% best video on how to take c124 interior apart! I have problems with scratches on rear window on my c124 (facelift model) and now I know how to fix it all thanks to YOU dear sir. Thanks!

You helped me understand how to replace the “triangle” trim piece between the rear side windows and the shoulder belt housing! Now I can replace the nasty one on my otherwise very nice C124 Sportline. OctoClassic makes the parts using 3D printing.
@kipsome452 жыл бұрын
I have to confess that I was in the ‘leave the cloth trim in’ camp, but seeing that leather interior, I’m convinced you’ve done the right thing. I’m also really glad that you thoroughly vacced the carpet after removing the seats…failure to do so would have really triggered my OCD!

Well done! I do love the old Mercedes cloth seats, specially when they're not faded or damaged, but I agree that leather is on another level. Good thing your interior is grey, because those seats in black leather get really toasty in the Summer... The only thing I'd do more on the interior is remove the black wrap that is still on that thin piece of wood trim that runs across the whole dash, just above the steering wheel.

Regarding the scratches in the window glass - there's a chance that something like a ceramic coat will make them distinctly less visible. Worth a go!
@marcryvon2 жыл бұрын
Usually those vertical scratches are done by dirty, dust and/or sand contaminated exterior dew squeegees. Have a look. Unfortunately, you would have to remove again the glasses to clean or change them... Duh. 😳
@delukxy2 жыл бұрын
You can probably reduce the scratches quite a bit with a windscreen polishing kit. That would make another video.
@AlienLivesMatter2 жыл бұрын
Cut n polish the entire car including glass headlight and windows. Sand and debris caught in window rubber scores the glass during operation.

I've always heard good things about the kits from the furniture clinic, they tend to know what colours are correct for each car by brand and age. The leather really has lifted the car, top job! Shame about the glass.

I always recommend leather. Ironically I've only had it in one car, till now, in my old 2nd hand 1986 Metro Vanden Plas. Cream leather seats, walnut dash, electric windows, I thought I was the shizz :) All my other cars have had cloth interior until my Ssangyong Tivoli. It's reminded me why I love leather. Definitely makes you feel better and lifts the car to a luxury level.
