I can feel my soul recharging when I see Adam get so obviously excited and yet stay quiet so he can listen well.

I’ve said this for a couple of years and I’ll say it again: Brady Haran is the greatest scientific communicator in human history. And it’s because he’s not the actual communicator, but the channel- the medium. Through him I’ve been introduced to the weirdest and most interesting concepts (and I’m in the sciences) along with the people dedicated to those very subjects.

I enjoy this from end to end. I have been watching Numberphile for a couple years now and same with tested. But I never new how bad I needed this podcast. Top marks all around.

11:00 OMG Mathematics as this giant field with different topics, rather than a monolithic block of facts, rings so true to me. I was a Math Major in college, going down that straight road of algebra > geometry > calculus, and I was thoroughly lost by the 3rd semester of Calculus. I talked to my Mentor and he said not every Math person has to know Calculus, and he had me take this survey of Mathematics class. Set theory, matrix math and others. I loved that class and spent the rest of my college career exploring those diverse areas. This was my introduction to being a JOAT.

I love Brady and his tremendous work. It was Periodic Videos that got me hooked with chemistry and Sixty Symbols and Numberphile that made me love science in general. I found his channel during junior high, at a time where I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do, and was a huge influence on that aspect of my life. Now that I'm in university studying science, it's crazy to think that this person had such a huge impact on my decisions. I only hope he knows how important his work is and I wish I will one day meet him in person and have a chance to chat.

I've seen so many explanations for "42" being the meaning of life. The most realistic answer I have seen is that in ASCII, 42 represents "*" which in computing denotes a wildcard. Therefore, the meaning of life is "everything"....

I remember that time when he made a video on an unsolved combinatorics problem, and someone just chucked the answer into the comments section. 🤣😁

I follow every one of Brady's KZfaq channels. He and all the scientists and mathematicians he works with are amazing. Everything from periodic videos to deepskyvideos (who put out a new video today) to numberphile are amazingly artistic in their projection of these things that the every day person forgets about or doesn't find interesting. Brady has shown us a whole world that the average person doesn't get to experience. It's beautiful.

Dr. Haran is the goods! So glad to see this mix of my favorites. Cannot describe how happy it made me when I discovered that Adam was a Numberphile fan. Next up needs to be Dr. James Grime.

Huge fan of Numberphile and several of Brady’s other works, for all the reasons you said and more. Numberphile is one of the KZfaq channels I don’t stop my kids from watching, when they’re supposed to be doing homework...

Brady's shown me the beauty of maths and physics, and that dramatically changed my worldview, and I'm incredibly thankful for Brady's work. He's a great chap.

I had a physics professor that was on the laser cooling project that ended up getting the Nobel prize for discovering the Bose-Einstein condensate (only 3 people get medals, there were like a dozen professors on the project). I can't claim anything impressive other than being in awe in their optics lab. I ended up switching from physics as my major after that year sadly... ...because I couldn't deal with all the math...

The ending of this video was one of the most beautiful things ever !!

Sixty Symbols is my favorite KZfaq channel. I hope we see more of it. Those physicists are inspirations to me, as a designer and creator who has no business doing theoretical physics.

Inadvertent humble brag from Adam countering Brady's 5.5 thousand years viewing time, with mythbusters coming in @ a million years, it was like Brady had a glass head as I watched his thought process, "well that's because you were on TV for 14 years, cobber 🤪"

Awesome to learn about the origins of some of my favourite channels on YT. I am always amazed by the wonderful people Brady finds to make videos with, and the topics just add to my pile of things I want to learn about some day. Also, Adams reaction to the gift was priceless. Given his adoration for objects, Adam seems like he would enjoy watching Objectivity at least as much as Numberphile. Strange they didn’t mention the channel.

This was a genuinely beautiful interview. One of the top comments on the video says Brady is one of the best science communicators on youtube but while I agree, I think its a bit reductive. Brady is amazing not because he is a communicator, but rather because he fascilitates communication. He is the audience surrogate in the room and I genuinely don't know if anyone is as good at that as Brady is.

Imagine the value of that brown paper on Brady's wall... Also, the Klein's bottle. So many priceless things. Awesome! I really admire your contributions to science education, guys!

I never thought I’d find I have anything in common with Adam Savage. He’s just this delightful, different being. But I, too, have that spatial awareness where I can look at an object and know if it will fit in a space. It’s a very handy talent.

This is a dream two of my favorite channels coming together and being able to watch you guys talk it is so great. Thanks for the video both of you.
