Nurbanu became a Sultana through Selim but Hurichihan was born as a Sultana, her late mother Hatice Sultana was a dynasty member and the sister of His Majesty. Hurichihan had a higher rank than Nurbanu because she is a dynasty member and has royal blood. Even though Nurbanu and Hurichihan has the same title (Sultana) Nurbanu is still a slave, she has no royal blood running through her.

In real life, the Haseki Sultan outranked a born Sultana. So when Suleiman created and gave the title to Hurrem, she became the highest ranking woman in the empire (because the Valide Sultan was dead). It was the same with Nurbanu when Selim became Sultan and gave the title to her.

@@philippav2639 Haseki is higher than the Sister of the Sultan that's why it was also created for the Haseki or the consort is higher above all next to the Queen Mother aka Valide. Its just in the show it was depicted that the sisters are higher on some point although its not true and some things in the show were portrayed wrong that's why in television there is a disclaimer that some of it is fictional.

Lol did Huricihan forgot that his father was also a slave? Suleiman never freed him except for Hurrem. The “Sultana by blood” always say something like this but who they called slave/mere concubine grew to be the most influential woman in history like Hurrem, Nurbanu, Safiye, Kosem etc. They’re the one who shaped the Ottoman dynasty.

Technically speaking, both were nieces of ruling head of states. Huricihan was the niece of Sultan Suleiman while Nurbanu (Cecilia Venier-Baffo) was the niece of Sebastiano Venier, the Doge of Venice. Within their own respective domains, both are equal in rank.

In real life, the Haseki Sultan outranked all other women (apart from a Valide Sultan). So when Suleiman created and gave the title to Hurrem, she became the highest-ranking woman in the empire. And when Selim became Sultan and gave the title to Nurbanu, she became the highest ranking woman in the empire. The title and ranking system were so much simpler in real life, so I really don't understand why they made it more complicated in the series.

Mihrimah is a true Sultana as she is the daughter of a Sultan. But hurichihan is only a hanim sultan (hanim means daughter of) so in any circumstances mihrimah has higher rank than hurichihan...also being the daughter of ruling Sultan is more powerful than being daughter of former sultan. But because of age gap mihrimah shows respect to hatiche ,Fatma etc. Just like mihrimah shows respect to mahidevran who is not even a free women but is of her mother's age.

Hurichan didn't do anything wrong to Nurbanu only when Hurichan discovers accidentally the conversations between Nurbanu and her male servant...Hurichan threatens her that she will tell the truth or her secret to Selim that she's very close with her male servant and that he is in love with Nurbanu and they are from same country Italy that's when this confrontation happened and the result is devastating Nurbanu killed Hurichan and never got justice..I feel sorry for Hurichan in this drama she never do anything wrong against other and she's also kind but she got a bad ending...also Hurrem despises her just because she is the daughter of her mortal enemy Ibrahim and Hatice...
