@@Davidernoob The whole point of these factions is that they arent supposed to be well rounded though. Factions like Khorne and nurgle are supposed to be extremely lacking in the ranged department. "not even any ap on any hero or lord" - actually they have AP on every hero and lord except the cultist. Besides the drones and soul grinder having AP you also got the beast of nurgle and of course the great unclean one. The lack of anti-large is a bit odd though. Would have thought they'd just slap down some AL on the unclean one but apperently not. Suppose we'll have to wait for the DLC with chosen but aye, seems a bit strange with none.

@@selbstgesprachfuhrender1709 They are not squishy don't worry about that, in the video they are not on ultra unit size and basic plaguebearers still have 8700 hp which is quite big

On ultra unit size, exalted plaguebearers have 13 000 hp, that's a shit load of hit points

In the campaign video they seem pretty durable, lack of armor makes sense they compensate with the bonus on melee defense, + regeneration + physical resistance + spells + poison, since most units have poison the enemy army will be 99% debuffed, so thats important.

That's just because Nurgle is the most popular Chaos god. People are into the aesthetic, memes, and "he just wants everyone to be happy :-)" twist. What they're not into is the _actual_ theme and slow, tanky, strategic stuff. 90% of gamers are into flashy glass cannon type stuff in most games. In TWWH, the ones that _do_ like that, prefer to just sit in place and artillery/ranged spam, and hate the idea of going on the attack.

Agreed, though tbh i kind of like slower paced battles... I think it'll be fun but definitely not for everyone. That's why there's Khorne...

@@seventh-hydra I’m more worried about Nurgle going against a mobile army or the Vampire Coast where the units will get shredded before even reaching their army. I know we have the flying Calvary to help but archers and handguns can kill them pretty quick too.

The main problem is how OP ranged is, meaning Nurgle gets wrecked by it especially on mobile armies

I mean, that was my main concern with the monogod factions coming into TW3: it may be more thematic than an undivided army, but the fact that each god focuses on extremes (in Nurgle's case slow, grinding line holders) doesn't necessarily make for a good/fun army on the tactical map.

That is exactly how nurgle plays. Outlast enemy and attrition and poison everywhere

@@Josiah_Trelawny1 there is always bad matchups. I think it will come down to just how well they tank. WE frontlines are a bit squishy so if they can break that and disrupt the ranges they should at least be in the fight.

Yeah. They kinda HAVE TO give these nurgle units some armor/health or then at least speed because right now they don't stand a change in a multiplayer for example. I love how they look and I am definitely going to play them but they need bit more positive attributes to be actually fun to play (probably :D)

@@jasuize tbh I think this is more the cost of variety, some army styles counter others, nurgle is at a huge advantage against someone like slannesh, but suffers against someone like the wood elves. notably however nurgle units have the highest hp thresholds in the game up to this point, this video was taken on large, not ultra, and on ultra plaugebearers actually have almost the same hp as black orcs... and that's basic infantry, the exalted version have 13K hp and despite having more models has the same hp per model as black orcs which was the previous highest hp per model infantry. if nurgle wasn't weak to missiles he wouldn't really have a weakness because he *will* win every melee grind and non-missile focused rosters will rely entirely on outflanking to get any damage in

@@oneringtorulethemagicarp7199 Those are good points and I agree with you. Tho about the ultra thing. I always play with large and so is multiplayer etc played. Large is kinda the base setting. I still think nurgle has interesting new playstyle and has some good attributes like healing and being tanky. I guess I'm just worried how they will play against basically anything that has bit more range like wood elf, coast, empire, etc. That grind to push all the flying units and frogs behind the front line can get bit tedious, but who knows? :D Hopefully not :)

@Dreymon Green A lot of the Tzeentch units, if you get them into combat they will get brutalised, making the shield kind of necessary for a heavily ranged army. Looks like Nurgle will be tough and able to take hits regardless so the extra may have broke it too much. Might also still be getting worked on last minute?

@Dreymon Green Spot on, he doesn't even grind that well either. Any sort of opening or opportunity that a nurgle player sees cannot be taken advantage of since their entire roster lacks speed, mobility is king. A passive slow on nurglings, a regen on all units and unit upgrades that feel more weighted like we see with chaos would all go a long way to improving nurgle. Oh and how could I forget, GIVE THEM ANTI LARGE! How in the blazes did their entire roster not get a single unit with anti-large? Its insane. Nurgle is the weakest faction and I don't expect them to be good for some time until player count drops off to zil and finally CA addresses their fuck up.

@Dreymon Green tbh though, all of them bar Tzeentch have a pretty predictable playstyle from what I can tell. The main difference between them is Khorne is about hitting hard, Slaanesh about hitting fast and Nurgle about taking hits head on. Much like it is in the tabletop game. That said... I will say right now I absolutely 'suck' at TW games, as much as I've played them since Shogun first came out and love them lol. So my actual thoughts on it are a fairly moot point in terms of actual tactics etc!

I was just thinking this, also no shields, low armour. Feels like those stacks of hp will drop very fast, might require a lot of regen/spell/buff management to compensate.

@@hannesholmgren3894 Yeah that's where the Passive Healing and spells come in, .2% of 8700 is still 17hp per second which is nothing to sneeze at.

Can't forget that they complement their huge health pool with physical resistence and poison attacks, wich Will reduce their oponent's dmg by 35% including ap. While they lack dedicanted ranged units, they still have death Heads, kurgath and the soul grinder, wich all cause the poison effect and may help catching up faster units. The First faction Power is also a huge slow, with the other two being an aoe heal and an aoe direct dmg. Nurgle also has some fast units in the plague drones, furies and forsaken. Also consider that nurglings are pretty mutch better zombies, being faster, more resilient and having poison, and anyone who's faced a good counts player knows How good zombies are for controlling the Battlefield.

They are one of the best for attrition grinds, they’ll out last almost everyone with so much healing and mortis effects… weak to missile play and heavy cav but everything needs some weaknesses, and you’ve got options to jump ranged units. It’s also worth noting they are demons, so they don’t run when they run out of leadership… if you force a grind fest your almost guaranteed to break your opponent first.

Yeah definitely, Vampire counts at least had good cavalry and some strong and fast monsters. A lack of anti large too but you still had spearmen and the Terrorgeist Tzeentch is my favourite chaos faction, so I'm certainly looking forward to seeing the full roster.

@@LordVader1094 Furies cant counter huge armies of ranged spam units alone, which is what will exist mostly in mp. They are super squishie, a castle of missile spam is going to rip your furies apart as they approach which means you have to commit a lot of your army first before sending the furies in and you need a lot of furies. It just isn't a solid method for dealing with the mp meta, nurgle is def going to be weak in mp based on how the meta has been every total warhammer. Pray you don't go against elven armies lol.

@@AllGodsDue I was thinking the same. How will you win agains't a Glade Guard spam? Fire arrows will obliterate you, your infantry won't catch them, and your 'fast' movers will be catch and pinned by cheap elf cavalry (then killed from range).

Methinks that when fighting enemies like elves your best bet would be to force the enemy into melee with things like pox flies

The amount of buffs they get from lords and heroes make them pretty tanky. Army seems to do best clumped up if you can stop magic users haha they don't do so well against range or magic heavy armies

Yeah like i feel like all these chaos faction units are...not good? Like compare it to the high elves' roster - they have insane missile units/infantry/cav/dragons etc, you look at dark elves, they have shades/darkshards/hydra/to name a few, wood elves waywatchers/glade guard/tree kin/hawk riders, again to name a few, these 3 factions especially will destroy nurlge with ease given he has no way to deal with the range and AP missiles from the elves. Even the empire, insane artillery/steam tanks/luminarks/cav/handgunners, skaven with plagueclaws/rattling gunners/jezzails/brood horrors, lizardmen with their insane single entity units (carnosaur/stegadon/dread saurian, plus plenty of solid melee). The best unit i can see from this list is the exalted unclean one, who looks good for sure, but he's a massive, slowish unit and the rest of the army looks really meh. I struggle to see how CA will balance these units once Warhammer 2 and Warhammer 1 races are in play, because from what I see and with the supply line changes, i see NO WAY for the Warhammer 3 races to do anything in battle vs the warhammer 2 races. The biggest boon the warhammer 3 races have is the faction/campaign mechanics which are insanely good.

@@M.L.official I would like to remind you that many of the awesome units you are describing in warhammer 2, were also dlc units, and the factions played quite differently before they were added to the game.

@@tiborstein3360 Sure, your right, objectively. However, how long do we have to wait for TW3 factions to be good? A year or two after release before their roster is finally up to snuff? Its really unacceptable to realise the 'demon' factions are just going to be stomped by the already super buffed factions that are TW2. Nurgle in particular will not struggle but absolutely fail to be anything but a pin cushion. They need substantial buffs to make them competitive. Missile resist, a minor regen, snare's anything to make the moment they finally engage to be a tarpit that is a pain to get out of. They have none of that.
