So I'm late to this video, as it was just recommended to me. Thank you for posting a video about nursing school supplies that a normal person can afford. I see all of these fancy videos where the student in question spent thousands of dollars on high-end supplies and I just cannot relate to that. I'm in my second semester, and from my experience, this is the most accurate video for students on a budget. Thank you for sharing this.

Word of advice from a graduating nursing student do not buy your textbooks!!! renting from Chegg is so much cheaper!! The only book I ever bought was the MedSurg textbook because it carried over into three classes. Don’t waste your money on those textbooks because I made that same mistake first semester!!

This is the most realistic nursing school supplies/essentials video I’ve watched on KZfaq so far.

I'm in my final year of nursing school, doing the same program as you, but in Australia. I have the same stethoscope and the case I use is a double-sided hard shell pencil case. I work as an AIN currently and I take it to work, as well as labs and clinicals. I put my various ID badges, stethoscope, pens, pen lights, fob watch, lib balm, breath mints and a pocket-sized notebook inside. It's a life saver!!

I have not started nursing school yet, but I did find out about 2 weeks ago that I have been accepted to Drexel University’s accelerated BSN program! Drexel is located in Philadelphia. It is 11 months long, start to finish, and I will start March of 2022.

Your best friend may loves you so much genuinely to gift you a lot of things. Cherish him/her. Keep them in your prayers because people like that don’t exist.

Hey y'all! My nursing school requires us to have solid white, black, or grey shoes that are easy to clean/wash (in case of liquids or anything getting on them). A senior didn't do this herself but recommended a shoe that does not absorb liquids at all, & any liquids will just slide off of. Because she didn't get these for herself, she didn't know of any brands. Does anybody have any recommendations for comfortable, easy to clean &/or waterproof shoes for nursing?

Hi so I had a question, I've been watching your videos and you have been helping me so much prepare for med surg!! I appriceate your videos so much and all of your organization gives me life!! But the main question that I had was, what was the passing rate for your classes, currently in the med surg here there is about two people passing out of 38 I believe, and that is quite alarming it is giving me anxiety, because I see them study and it's like no one can pass the professors exams. Is there any more tips you can give me to get through this?? 😬😬. Once again thank you for sharing your journey with us, you're awesome!

I recommend getting those slip on plastic-ish shoes and not the fabricated ones we typically buy because there will be instances that you’ll get thrown up or get bed bugs from patients and it’s hard to clean your shoes if it’s fabricated ones. Happened to me and the nurses we work with. I heard it’s expensive but worth it.

I thought it was 2 years. (Prior I already have all the pre reqs you can think of so it cuts down the time that I will be there for)

Update on the shoes? Have they been comfortable? As a peds icu tech, I’ve developed plantar fasciitis and heel spurs so trying to find comfortable shoes that fit the requirements for nursing school is MOST important for me! Girl you’re lucky, I paid $680 for 2 pairs of scrubs (tops and bottoms), lab coat with patch, warm up jacket, long sleeve undershirt (required because I have tattoos), shoes, 2 name tags, and my Med kit 😩

I have been trying so hard in nursing and has been a journey where you can see a person climbing and falling; but I feel i will love the medical field. I cannot imagine owning all those supplies for medical. And someday when I become a registered nurse, I will even be considered a candidate to inject people. I want to know how to inject. My dream is to know to do injections and working in home health seems pretty good for my personality.
