It’s the start of a brand new week in the House of Tiny Tearaways, and three new families will be coming into the house looking for help with their problems from clinical psychologist Dr Tanya Byron. 5 year old Harrison has slept in his parents’ bed since he was born - they can count the number of times they've had the bed to themselves on one hand, he only eats chocolate buttons, bread and butter and milk, refusing to eat any other kind of food, and is very badly behaved, hitting, biting and swearing at his family. Kelsey is throwing a tantrum before even stepping foot in the house. Ryan usually plays up at lunchtime and Dr Tanya Bryon is keen to see the extent of the problem, but surprisingly, Ryan behaves impeccably today.
Presenter Claudia Winkleman guides the audience through a week-long journey at TV’s first ever child and parent behaviour refuge.
During their stay at the House of Tiny Tearaways, three families live together, while child psychologist Dr Tanya Byron works with both parents and children to solve issues around fussy eating, sleeping habits, and public tantrums - and she'll challenge the parents to get to the root of the problems they're experiencing raising their children.
With Dr Tanya Byron's help and advice, the hope is that the families will learn useful pedagogy techniques and gain new insights, giving them long-lasting support though the parenting challenges they're facing
