i can personally vouch for this riser,it is one of the best for beginner.I've been using this riser for 8 months,and have used it in national competition,even got a gold medal in the local indoor club competition. The alignment system really isnt the best,i have had a lot of trouble getting it correctly,and it only can hold 30lbs and thats true by the way.I have been shooting at 38lbs in the last 6 months now and just earlier this month it finally crack,right in the middle of the riser.I got mine weld up and donate it to the club for news kid to shoot.I still would definitely recommend it to any beginner wanting to get into olympic recurve,this riser has been a real stepping stone for a broke college kid who want to be a serious archer,proving that you dont really need high end equipment to get good result.

Thanks, nusensei for your reviews. I like to add that this is actually OEM from Sanlida B1 or new rebadged Miracle X8. You are right about the bolt alignment.

Thank you so much, for sharing this, really great video!!! I wondered how well this riser was, and your review answered a lot of questions about it. I really liked how you utilized the Victory VAP arrows, to match with the bows draw weight, great choice!!!

This is my first bow and I really like it. No stabilizer nor sight needed for a 5cm radius grouping at 10m (68" total size, 29.5" draw, 34 lbs) :)

I bought a Core Air as my first own riser. (Previous riser were borrowed or rented). It's decent in performance for its price, but the lack of a "proper" tuning system was kind of a disappointment for me, but the main issue for me was the paint job. The second I put the limbs in I heard a cracking noise. I removed the limbs and inside the limb pockets were big cracks in the paint. The store I got it from told me that since the riser isn't ionized, cracking paint is common and not covered by warranty and there's nothing they can do. They told me to smear some clear nail polish on the cracks to keep them from spreading. Everytime I use my bow it gets airbubbles under the paint which then cracks and form new "holes" in the paint. I've given up with nail polish and plan on buying a new more expensive riser soon since I have plans to compete and improve my shooting.

I just got the Galaxy Cresent from Lancaster, and its so light, Love it. Feels good in the hand, added some weights to balance it better. Replaced my Cartel Fantom.

I own the Core Air and I currently have 34lb Fantom Edge limbs on it (even though max is stated to be 30lb, 2000+ arrows later, all is well). Along with 2 x 350g weights, it makes a decent Barebow setup at a very low price point. I'm very impressed with the Riser, especially considering what I paid for it. Also, paid 45 euros for mine :) Also, yes, horizontal limb adjustments are made by turning the limb bolts.

+Leo Mostert Core Archery became aware of fabrication issue in AIR model and recommends "safe" for 30# but above is the gamble. Core Archery re-released as GONEXO model for guaranteed # handling. You might be good to go forever with 34# but that is just the luck of the draw

I just bought Core Air for my first kit! best watch this vid. You can get the Core Air for under £50 in the UK. The max poundage as per CORE however is 30
@wayne2wax
@wayne2wax 5 жыл бұрын
Horizontal adjustment is made by use of those Tiller Bolts, too. Those Tiller Bolts are a type of cam. Those Tiller Bolts not only adjust up/down poundage on each limb, but take care of side-to-side on each limb. This style of bolt is called an asymmetrical bolt / eccentric bolt

Several archers in my JOAD program use the Galaxy Crescent and I very strongly recommend against them. The bow uses the tiller bolts to control tiller and lateral limb alignment. The entire system is held together by one cap screw on each limb bolt, which has about six threads and a propensity of coming loose, causing the bow to fly apart. To add to the issues, the entire adjustment system as a lack of repeatability and requires frequent adjustment, making the cap screws coming loose all the more likely. I know the price point is very attractive on these risers, but spend the money for something safer and more reliable.

I shot my Galaxy Cresent for 3 years, and in my experience, not one thing has come loose. Mind you, when I first got it, I chose to take out the locking grub-screw and the tiller bolts, and wrap the threads with plumber's tape. I have checked limb-alignment from time to time, and nothing has moved after 10,000 arrows.

Can you do a more in depth video on arrow spine? I heard you say these are 1100? I shoot at 26-30# and have tried 1000, 800, 600 and 500 w various tips, I really would love to know more where and how to adjust my spines correctly/how to read feedback from my shots? Thanks so much for your awesome channel!

I’ve been going nuts with this (Galaxy) riser trying to find a way to calculate ballistics. Every calculator I find wants to know the IBO/ATA rating of the bow, but I cannot find that anywhere. I was hoping with a good ballistic calculator I’d be able to switch limb weights frequently and the data would make a significant difference in how fast I can resight in. The theory I’m working on is a little much to fully explain, but every detail is either set by body geometry or balanced for a range of distances/purpose (or energy needed on impact/balanced with acceptable wind deflection). There’s no point burying an arrow into a 70m indoor target when you don’t need the speed to counter wind deflection, know the drop for a minimal weight to get the arrow on target balanced with the reliability (or challenge to) one’s anchor point and form and one should benefit from tolerating longer practice times. The sooner one gets used to all the information the produces a result, the more their unconscious mind manages the difficult calculations. The unconscious mind can generally manage calculus, but it has trouble sorting where to put an variable until the effect is explained to it.

I have the crescent, it's my first ILF riser and all the adjustments centre around the limb bolts. I have big hands so the top of my thumb knuckle hurts after a while shooting with that style of grip and shelf design, but it's an okay riser.

Is it normal to see so much "shudder" from the bow? Even with the suppressor, and later the stabilizer, it was visible. I don't remember it being that noticeable before, and am wondering if it is due to lighter weight materials, or something else?

Without the lateral limb adjustment, the Crescent seems to be in the same class as the Junxing F167.
@Australian_Made
@Australian_Made 6 ай бұрын
The Galaxy Crescent does have lateral alignment. The tiller bolt is a special design with is called eccentric design. Basically what this means is the shank is asymmetrical. Fully adjustable side to side. 👍

I hope to `clear the air` [pun intented] about these comments . . . Lancaster USA had wwwww1111 but had issues. Two years later, they started stocking wwwww2222 and it was very good. Crescent is manufactured properly this time, and suites all heavier Drawweight Limbs to ``at least`` 44lbs, as seen by wwwww3333 I talked to Lancaster TechXPerts many times: confirming Crescent has no upper DrawWeight limits (where similarly priced "Cast" Alunimium Alloy Risers do have a recommended upper limit {36lbs}). Crescent also has quality & durable Powder Coat paint finsish. I can vouch for how well it wears as I've done more than 20,000 times of pushing the arrow throught the clicker {during nocking procedure}. I have worn this area of my Riser down by a serious amount, and the paint at that boundary NEVER CHIPS. I have probably taken my ILF limbs in&out less than 40 times, yet there still is some small wear, but NO CHIPPING present. +++++++++ As per +JunZuloo 's comments, . . . In the case of my UK / EU Core Air Riser reviewed by NUSensei, chipping & flaking started immediately from my very first ILF limb in/out connection. My Bronze colour has a clear overcoat which makes it very shiney and pretty, but that Bronze base flakes off & bonds to the Clear Coat better than it bonds to the Magnesium alloy underneath. And you can HEAR IT every time another particle chips off (a poor prep effort). +++++++++ All available stocks of Core Air Risers are only the remainders / last ones, and are heavily discounted. There are still heaps & heaps of these about for sale [in the EU / UK] For about USD $50 you get a riser which is very good for Limbs up to 30lbs DrawWeight. But not-so-good for their quality/durability of paint finish. That is a very nice price for an entry level first time purchase. This [Air] can be bought from Alternative S S or Merlin {or others} in the UK. In the UK / EU, the "PROPERLY" QC manufactured Magnesium ILF 25" Riser by "CORE" , is NOW the wwwww4444 I talked to the Alternative Sporting Sevices salespeoples: confirming that the GONEXO WILL ACCOMMODATE all LIMB drawweight poundages. The GONEXO can be bought for the same USD$90 in the EU / UK , as the CRESCENT in the USA can be bought for (USD$90) All four models are Magnesium alloy. All four models weigh 900 grams mass. Core & Galaxy both have Forged Aluminium ILF models in their range, but are heavier in mass, and more expensive in cost.

Before Hoyt did a "Click in , Click out" limb fitting system, Yamaha was well ahead of the curve. ... in a sense, Hoyt copied an idea it liked on the Yamaha limb fitting system.
