We’re told that milk is a perfect food that we should drink daily-three glasses to be exact-in spite of a large (and growing) body of research showing its lack of benefits and awful side effects. Even though cow’s milk today contains dozens of reproductive hormones, allergenic proteins, antibiotics, and growth factors, some of which are known to promote cancer, the dairy industry wants us to believe that their cows are happily producing milk and grazing through green pastures. For the most part, that couldn’t be further from the truth.
In today’s episode of my series I’m calling Health Bites, I talk about common dairy myths, why it is such a contentious food, how to tackle the pros and cons of whether it belongs in your diet, and which dairy is actually okay to eat.

I find it interesting that people who have no medical background love to argue with the doctor who has read all the studies and done the work. 🤣. My mom would argue with Dr Hyman about dairy. She drinks it every day and insists it’s good for her. She is 85, crippled with arthritis and has a big hump on her back from osteoporosis. But she LOVES her dairy and will fight to the end anyone who dares to say it’s unhealthy. 🤦‍♀️

You do NOT need a medical background to debate a doctor. Do you really think they know more? And still yet, have all the answers? The human race is the worst off as it has ever been at any time in history thanks to Modern medicine. In the last 50-60 years it killed more people than any war or epidemic and is the leading cause of death in the US. Doctors today are paid prescription fillers and will never cure or heal anyone. If they did that, they would be putting themselves out of a job. My wife and I are much healthier today after we took our health and healing into our OWN hands.

Don't compare warehoused, feedlot, grain fed, homogenized dairy to happy grassfed cows. I have a son who carries the Marfan gene. At puberty his rib cage caved in & he went through the Nuss procedure. He was a gawky, skinny, twig. A single summer on raw milk changed everything. His dandruff went away, no more pits in his nails, acne gone, he filled in & became "normal". That was 14 years ago. He's now in his 20s, lifting weights, almost 6ft & raising goats. Quality milk is healing.

I volunteer work at a small dairy farm in western Massachusetts a few days a week. The cows are 100% fed on natural pasture grass and hay. I drink the raw milk (not heated, not pasteurized, not homogenized, no hormones, no pesticides, most likely occasional antibiotics when necessary, but not on a regular basis ) which is only about 2-3 hours out of the cow (and chilled naturally) . . . ALL THE TIME. I'm 65 and in good shape (BP is good, heart rate is good, blood glucose is good, I take ZERO Rx drugs (not even aspirin or Advil)).

What happens to the dairy cow’s calf? If it’s a female, they become a dairy cow. Male, killed for veal at a very young age. Dairy cows are forced to have calves every year and after about 6 years, they are killed to be cheap hamburger meat. So, even if you don’t believe the truth about how bad milk is for humans to eat, there is the ethical side to the business to consider.

When I was a kid in the 4th grade in 64/65, my Dad was working at Mount Sini hospital. He kept track of all the research they were doing at the hospital. They were doing a study on milk, and they found it was not good for you. I over heard my Dad talking to my Mom about the study. Well my teacher called my Dad to complain, cause I was going around telling the kids in my class not to drink milk. Because of my Colon and digestive issues, I can't eat dairy. I can't even eat vegan ice cream. I switched to goat cheese instead of cows milk cheese, because the goat and sheep milk has Casin A2. Where as cows milk had Casin A1, which is bad for you. I do eat grass fed butter the KerryGold. My Dad did all the cooking when we were kids, cause of my Moms health issues. Being a medical professional Analytical chemist doing research in Cancers and TB, he fed us healthy. I wish I could find some goat milk at the supermarket. I've tried the almond milk, oat milk, but, don't really like it in my afternoon cups of tea. So yes I do do a little bit of milk in my morning and afternoon tea. Rest of my tea is plain with no sugar or milk. I drink lots of green tea. If you have a chance to go to NYC, go to Harney & Sons on Broome street in Soho. They have over 400 different teas. I get allot of their Japanese Green teas. You get one free tea tasting, and they always have two pots of tea of the day on tap to try for free. That's why I like Dr. Hyman cause he reminds me of my Dad. What about Tofu, Dr Hyman, isn't it made from Soy? Cause I was told soy is not good for the colon and digestion, stomach.

I've heard a lot of what Dr Hyman is saying convincingly debunked a long time ago. I think the main issue with dairy is potential allergy or intolerance. It's worth experimenting to see if this is an issue for you, but if it's not, then full fat dairy (including fermented dairy products) can certainly be part of a healthy diet.

Hello Mark, It has become clear to me from this video and documentaries that milk is bad, but can you tell me whether cow-free cheese and milk by precision fermentation is also unhealthy? This production process may be a more climate-friendly alternative than regular cow's milk, but it still seems unhealthy to me based on your video message here. correct?

Unfortunately I survived a 8.5m fall in 2012 (I say “unfortunately”, because the “journey” was rough-still is, to say the least). Many broken bones, 37 operations and 11.5 years later here I am. So, I thought I needed heaps of full cream milk to heal and strengthen my bones. I would drink 2L per day. Of course 4.5 months ago my metabolic diseases hit a high. 154kg and I was considering suicide again. So I did something desperate after much research…go Carnivore (however, more like Lion/Carnivore). Now I’m 115.1kg, much healthier no metabolic issues, no meds however I do only take Omega 3 and Apple cider Vinegar. I was SO ADDICTED to milk. Life is better again. If I could shake this Damm lower back pain (and other areas), then life would be awesome. Now I do not drink ANY milk and rarely eat cheese. I only use Ghee.

The best thing you can do for lower back pain and joint pain is swim, no stress on your body as you are floating (if you're in serious pain, then there's a great solution.. get yourself THC oil, it will make you high, but you take it right before bedtime, you'll sleep like a baby and you'll wake up felling awesome, no hangover, no pain, no nothing.) Best of luck (well, you're a lucky guy, not everybody survives such a fall, 8.5 meters!) Don't forget VitD for your bones.

@@p.c.h.6721 thanks very much for your help. I’m trying to get more and more active over time. Having lost the weight sure helps. Two days ago 113.6 kg, so every bit helps. I’ve tried CBD oil but THC oil removed, because I have needed to drive, so I might see if I can manage the THC version and not drive for periods of time. I no longer take any meds which is amazing after being on them since 2012 to 4 months ago. Finally being able to get off depression meds after attempting several times is a fantastic. Thanks to Lion diet it only took a month after I started. Exactly 5 months 3 days since I made that decision. It wasn’t easy, especially at first, but not only did I have no choice (ultra low quality of life/suicidal thoughts), but I was determined to persevere. SO glad I didn’t give up. Keen to lose much more (85kg or lower I will be happy with). I’ll make an appointment to see my Dr now, cheers.

Once you have the right weight you can consume any whole foods , with balance. So basically just alkalize your body for a while👍 i think this is the matter. The title is a clickbait that seems to condemn "dairy". Turns out the problem is not diary, but low-fat milk, sweetened yoghurt. Butter is substantially OK, cheese is substantially OK, goat is better, grass-fed is important, non-pregnant cow appears to be fundamental. So the title should have been: don't drink low-fat milk of cows that are raised with mash only and don't drink milk of cows that are milked when they are pregnant. In nature, lions don't ask antelopes if they are pregnant or if they feed a child before eating them. All animals naturally produce hormones, that's part of the food. Those hormones are metabolized (digested) by the intestinal flora and by the liver, you don't have hormones in your body circulating for long. That's true for cows and sheep, just as is true for fish. We also eat vegetable hormones (fitohormones?) with vegetables. Your own produced hormones and growth factors are WAY more than the one you eat with food. Eat the forest and stop being obsessed with the single leaves.

After switching to a pretty-much all meat diet a year ago, I found out how addictive it is when I started to drink variations of it due to trying to fill in the gap of no carbs, and wanting to get some fats.
