Always rated Nuts as a selector. We used to leave from Garden all the way to th east to watch him work Super Dee. They used to draw down Klassique, which isn't easy to do.

Muscle, I'm glad you brought up Lee's Unlimited. Most ppl don't know that was a killing machine both under Richie and Stereo Belly. They never got the respect they deserved. They were the 1st to lock off Bass Odyssey inna them own lawn. Stereo Belly by himself beat them so bad that Keith the boss jump pon the turntables and get embarrassed. He also beat up them and Black Kat together few weeks after that in Lees HQ. Some time after that him nasty up Stone Love in HQ. Even Malcolm X admitted that on your program. I wish somebody from the sound was still around so you could interview them.

Big up Nutts. The last time I saw Nutts was July 1997 in a club in Springfield MA Volcano Aquarius and a few sounds were playing. He was free lancing we talk for like 2hrs. There’s Nothing wrong with losing competitively to your pears. Not everything Nutts is saying is 💯 accurate. The Bass Odyssey Nutts is talking about is not the same Bass Odyssey we know today. Every Sound had to overcome certain adversities before becoming a champion sound. Even in losing Bass Odyssey was always very competitive and definitely never an easy walk over for any sound. As far as Bodyguard is concerned Super Dee Dennis Wilmot and Nutt came to Clarendon late 1989 against Bodyguard Tony, Papsi, Sasi Perla, Pompidou. Super Dee simply survived they did not win they survived. I have that entire Bodyguard side of this Dance on cassette including the 1fe 1.. Bodyguard ran Super Dee out of Triller Uuuu (7)….then Nutts started to play Frankie Paul (4)…..The dance went downhill for Super Dee when Bodyguard played original Dub-plates Specials from Barrington Levy, Coco Tea, Freddy McGregor, Maxi Priest, Dennis Brown and Nitty Gritty. At that time in 1989 most sounds including Super Dee could not play any of those artists on dub-plate. Super Dee Nutts answerd with cover songs from Anthony Redrose, John Mouse, Collin Roach, Tinga Stewart Brian & Tony Gold and Bunny General. Super Dee even got some boos for playing so much cover songs with Anthony Red-rose. Nutts said some people told him that he won the dance???How?? With what songs??? THERE’S LEVELS TO THIS SHIT PEOPLE. The only time Super ever Killed Bodyguard was in REMA 1991Town dance and Miami 1992 mahi temple. After trailing the entire night Super Dee Nutts came back and won the dance by 1 song. “Dawn Pen“ no no no”….That song turned the dance upside down. Nobody wanted to hear back Bodyguard Johnny…Sound clash rules one 0 one a win is a win is a win. Despite losing to Super Dee a few times Bodyguard was alway the bigger heavier dubplate sound with better selectors. As far as the Jim Brown dance it was said that Super Dee Nutts and Bodyguard Johnny and Chris team up and got Stone-love OUT. That dance caused some friction because Stone-love didn’t play back with Super Dee for a while. Why none of these so called Bounty Killer sound cannot play him when his name was Bounty Hunter. There’s at least 11 sounds in Jamaica that I know of who can play Bounty Hunter Dubplates and none of them is Super Dee Addies 4x4 or Bass Odyssey. All these dub plates Nutts said Bounty Killer Gave him he forgot to mention that King Jammy were playing them long before any other sound. Nutts also forgot to mention that he cut them dub-plates at jammy studio not Arrows.
