NUX MG 300 Presets Demo!!!
Here's Part 2 of my little Series - dialing in Tones from the Masters in only 90 secinds using only the NUX MG 300 FX Unit! ‪@nuxaudio‬ called their Software for the MG 300 Multi FX Processor "Quick Tone" - so i thought maybe its a fun idea to get some Tones "as quick as possible" - for me - 90 seconds!
In The 1st Part I tried how close I can come to a general "EVH" Tone using their Plexi Sim with Boosts, EQ, Plate Reverb & Tape Delay.
If you think the EQ is a bit "too Bright" - Yes, If I would play alone I'd go without the EQ, but if you've ever heard a VH Record isolated - it's super bright to cut through the mix better ;)
In the 2nd Part I tried to create a "Brian May" Sound using their VOX AC30 Sim. At the End I added the Wah Pedal which was set to 60% to recreate the Tone of his Treble Booster - its maybe a bit over the top, but as close as I could get ;) ‪@BrianMay‬

Very nice, and two of my favorite guitarists in the world. It would have been interesting to see you get the brian may sound on a different guitar. This makes me want to get the Nux mg300, it has a great interface

The only suggestion that i have is on the May tone which needs i think a little boost in the treble frequency, Otherwise amazing job. I love you videos

Woow I’m impressed!!! Great tone!!!! Mg300 sounds amazing!!! Have you ever made a comparison between the Nux unit and Kempler??? (Taking into consideration that Mg300 is less than 10% of Kempers prize)

Actually no, cause I do t have the kemper anymore... the nux is fantastic for quick tones - very easy! But my experience is, that the guitar and the IR makes 70-80% of the tone.. of course kemper is a but more touch sensitive but you can’t dial it in like the nux or bias...

It might be a silly question, but how do we obtain a blank preset on this device like you do at the beginning of 'the 90 seconds section'? Do we have to erase a factory preset do do this? If so, how? I've seen lots of people on YT asking the same question and they never seem to get a satisfactory answer.

Daaayuhm Dude.....SPOT ON!!! I love your videos!!! I just bought mine but there's no way I can dial anything resembling my fave guitarists in less than a month. Even then.......I might need more time. LOL Can I ask if you're able to do this WITHOUT using the software (computer)?? I just use the preset tones but can't figure out how to custom build a sound using just the pedal. Would love a video on that!! Great Job!!!👍🤘👍🤘✨✨✨

@@MartinFrydas I have to confess my sins.....I'm @ work so I snuck my guitar and pedal in for practice during lunch hours and breaks. I'm not allowed to install software on a "work" computer so that's why I asked how to make custom tones on the pedal. I might just install it anyway but if I get fired, you have to send me one of your Harley Benton's!!😜😃😉

What would you do if you have only a small vox mini3g2 amp without effect loop return/send. I’m sure it will ruin the tone because when I will connect it to the nux mg300, this mini vox amp has a preamp build in.. it will interfere with the tone quality. What if I plug the nux mg300 to the aux input of this mini amp to skip the preamp section of this amp, will it solve the problem?

Yes, if it has an aux input it has an frfr speaker so that’s the way to go! Otherwise you have to disable the whole amp/cab section from the NUX...

Missing some fundamentals to Brian May's tone like a treble booster and touch of chorus. That said, good attempt. Definitely had that nasal pushed valve tone, although not until you switched on the fixed wah.

Hi. Love this vid. I have tried use your settings and can get close to the EVH sound but can't get the starting sound when you first select the plexi 100 amp. What amp are you playing into and what 'mode' are you using in the mg-300 ? Thanks.

Hi! Nice to hear! It’s in standard studio mode and the amp is the Plexi 100 preset... maybe you have to check the knobs, cause I think they were not 100% preset stock ;)

No, no real amp here - it’s just Guitar into the MG300 and straight into the DAW. So all you’re hearing is in the MG300 ;)

The same... on Stage definitely a difference (except you play IEM) but what the audience hears is a mic‘d up Signal maybe into digital converters/mixing consoles, FX ;)

Let’s give this guy a blind fold test analogue vs real amp have to succeed but a statistical margin.. I suspect a fail would be very likely and this guy would go whimpering back to his bedroom valve amps... You did a killer job Robin - very convincing! It’s so much religion involved with valve buffs.
