Jawa prices may be high sometimes, but the probability of being scammed on jawa is abysmal, and even if you do, I've heard good things about customer service. Only saying this because 3-4 years from now I will be selling my RX 6800 and a gtx 970 to fund an upgrade, and I may use Jawa to do it. Just saying

@apostolos8734 Thank you game developers. Optimization is so yesterday am I right? Most new games that come out now look the same or even worse than games that came out back in 2019-2020 but cost like 2x the VRAM. I know people blame the card, and to an extent, I get it. But goddamn have developers gone lazy with optimizing their games.

It's still a 4060Ti card being sold as 4070. What a P.O.S company. Keep in mind, these prices are for USA as well. In rest of the world not only are nVidia cards expensive but AMD (another P.O.S company) is trying to increases prices like nVidia for shittier hardware in comparison. All of this is happening cause of nVidia acting like the Apple of GPU's. Intel will join both of them whenever they create a good competing hardware with drivers that aren't garbage.

Thing is, you rarely get same percentage of improvement for the increase in price in ANYTHING. But you still do it because something is under some threshold and something is over some threshold. Usually actual improvement increases arithmetically and price geometrically. Same happens for most consumer goods. Cars or whatever.

Just forget the about 40 series right now. Prices are still far above what they should be and with the 50 series around the corner it's only a matter of less than a year until the 40s drop off a cliff in price. I have no doubts the 4070 and 4070ti are going to be incredible buys (despite the vram drawback)... AFTER the 50 series releases. For now just save your money and keep your eyes peeled.

It'll be a year and a half before the mid range and low range cards launch for the 50 series. The 5090 will launch first and they'll wait about 6-7 months later to launch the lower cards

You will not going to see 40 series price drop because of 50 series release. This time around there is no crypto to flood the market from overproduction or used market like what happen to 30 series. We expect nvidia to launch 50 series by the end of this year but there are already reports saying that nvidia already limiting some 40 series production by Q1 this year. By the time nvidia launch 50 series there won't be much 40 series left on the market.

They need to bring that 4070 super down to £549. The 4070 is now down at £499, would be nice to see that at £489. 4070ti going for £649 is pretty decent. A drop to £629 would be nice and make it seem a good option if you want a bit more performance over the 4070 super.

Summary: the 4070ti is very often 6-10% better on average with very rare exceptions in either side. Base your choice off getting it within 6% of the same price as they’re the same VRAM

I swear idk what it is but I've tried to run afterburner myself to get benchmark numbers and for some reason when I click all the buttons to show onscreen like yours does I get just basic settings. Don't get average frame times 1% or .1% lows idk what it is but I can't get any of it to show up. Been driving me crazy

You talked about showing benchmarks with reasonable settings.. why not show reasonable ray tracing settings in Alan Wake 2 where ~60fps can still be achieved?

Look at temperatures! I got a 4070 ti for $50 less from BB and am super happy at 1440p. Mileage may vary but was sick and tired of AMD image artifacts since upscaling is almost unavoidable and ray tracing is sublime in a few games where I had to keep it off.

I am so glad you show more than just raster only native benchmarks. That's such a dated way of benchmarking. It's not 2020 anymore. RT is here to stay, and DLSS gives equal to better image quality in modern AAA games. It's just superior to TSA and FXAA. And unfortunately MSAA and SSAA are far to demanding for the poly counts and level of detail we now have. Showing real world use case is such a breathe of fresh air. No one is playing Path Traced Alan Wake 2 or Cyberpunk without DLSS Ray Reconstruction. Without ray reconstruction the lighting looks almost blocky/pixelated and it's grainy. Games take on average 5 years to make. These techs are 5 years old. We are now getting games built with RT and upscaling in mind from day one. And I love it, biggest jump in image quality we've had since we went from PS2 to Xbox 360.

Well...not here in south Europe. 4070 is around 750€, 4070S 850€, 4070 ti 950-1000€, 4070 ti super 1100-1300€. Take into consideration that dollar to euro exchange rate is pretty much 1:1 and those prices are with tax included. Crazy expensive. Amd is a little bit cheaper, but not that much to make people switch.

Sigh... I got a 4070 ti. And within a week I returned it for a 7900 xt instead. I got the 4070 ti, bought into the "ray tracing!!" stuff. Bought it, played cyber punk for 5 minutes( I don't even play the game) got bored. Then.....yeah. There was nothing I wanted to do that used extreme ray tracing. And the card ran into a vram limit in cyberpunk with FG enabled during path tracing at 1440p. Also it was terrible at 4k. it would go from 70 fps to 40. Got the 7900 xt, and it was the best choice I ever made. Oc'd it like a monster and literally gets close to a 4080 in alot of titles. 20 gb of vram, and at 4k I get 20-30 more fps than the ti did on average. Not a single issue either. Funny, people try to make ray tracing out to be a big deal, yet no ones even playing games with it. Don't buy into the nonsense. Get the 7900 xt instead, you'll be happier. And with that said, aside from super super heavy RT titlkes, I have been able to still play most games with RT maxed no problem.

Thanks for the honest feedback. Whenever it comes to Nvidia, people like to dance around the topic instead of being blunt and direct. Though with their rabid fans, I suppose it can’t be helped. The 7900 XT is definitely a compelling choice for its VRAM. Definitely a GPU I’m saving up for myself.

@@infiniteblaz3416 The 7900 xt has made gaming fun again for me. Every game, I just put ultra graphics 4k. And with my OC it always reaches 60. Most titles I'm 80-100 4k lol. So clear, so vivid. Not even a single, driver issue. Not even one. PLayed retro, old games, new games doesn't matter. It all simply works. My first AMD card, and honestly I now know how foolish I was. The software alone is incredible. This card doesn't even break a sweat on most titles. Worth the 720 I paid for the hellhound powercolor.

@@TheRandomDude-qy1ev I believe it. Before I bought a 6700 non XT (now my friend has it). I was with Nvidia because I too got caught up with the bad driver press with Radeon. Decided to bite the bullet and haven’t looked back since. I’m on a 6750 XT now and that thing just does not care. It plays everything at 1440p full tilt with some 4K thrown into the mix. All 6 of our PCs run Ryzen + Radeon now and they’ve all been incredibly reliable.

@@infiniteblaz3416If you're doing that well with the 6750 XT right now, I'd stick with that for a few more months until AMD launches RDNA4 around the end of summer. You'll basically get 7900 XT performance for $500, and you should still be able to sell your 6750 XT for about $200-250 at that point...

I bought a 4070 super as a 1080p card so it can last me for years(at least until ps6 comes). For alan wake 2 it is still not enough. I play at superampling 1440p quality mode for a 60fps experience with rt.

I wouldn't call $700 a "great deal" for a GPU lol. But contextually speaking, I would still take a 4070 Ti over a 7900XT, but that's only because I'm thinking about doing streaming, video editing, photography...etc

I don't put too much stock in this claim that 12GB isn't enough - it is. It just could be more for the price paid, but it is what it is.

Here in Germany you can get a RX 7900 XT for 20€ more than the RTX 4070 Ti. And if you ask me, it is worth to spend the 20€ more, if you want that price range. 12GB are not enough in my opinion for 699€ and the 12GB in my opinion is a no-go at that price and being so close to a 16GB+ card. For the 4070 Super I can say it is fine, but even there I would sometimes think if I wouldn't rather have the GB instead of better RT with something like the 7900 GRE, especially now that you can oc the VRAM

You are claiming that 12GB "is not enough", but do not specify exact cases. So it does not represent the actual user experience. A year ago I chose 4070 Ti over 7900 XT (their prices were equal) and never had any regrets. Love how DLSS improves image quality over native TAA in many games at 4K. Also DLDSR is a great downscaler, which scales well under 4x factor (unlike DSR or VSR). And better RT performance is a nice bonus. The only time I had problems with VRAM capacity was in Ratchet & Clank. At 4K/Max RT it needs more than 12GB, even with DLSS set to Performance. So I had to choose 1440p instead. But since this game looks great even at 1440p, thanks to DLAA, I would not call it a major disadvantage. Plus, 7900 XT can not run this game with maxed RT anyway, even at 1440p, let alone 4K. So even in this case 4070 Ti is superior to 7900 XT. I'd argue 4070 Ti was and still is a better buy, if price is similar.

@@stangamer1151I do not claim 12GB is not enough. I claim it isn't enough for that price range. And I also don't mean for now either, although there are already games that can exceed 12GB of VRAM usage on 1440p or 4K, although I don't think it is a problem at the moment and won't really give you a worse experience. Further more DLSS doesn't really improve image quality over native at least, I think Hardware Unboxed made that testing multiple times and didn't find stuff. Furthermore, you already talked about a game that has problems with VRAM, and that is at the moment, imagine how it could end in the future. I also recommend a talk from Hardware unboxed on that topic. They go into detail, why 12GB won't be the best in the future, but will also probably not cause a lot of problems, if you are willing to lower the settings. RT and Frame Gen also like to use more VRAM, and even if you don't need it or can't have the best settings any more, you would still be able to higher the texture quality on a GPU with more VRAM. I agree that RT performs better without a doubt. The question is just how often do you plan on upgrading. If you plan on keeping the GPU for longer I would go with the 7900 XT, because it has more VRAM, while if you only want to keep it for a few years the 4070 Ti will be a good choice, because it has better RT. If the 4070 Ti had 16GB at the same price as the 7900 XT I would say the 4070 Ti would be the better choice, no matter what. But the 12GB isn't enough at that price range. I would even consider going with another GPU over the 4070 to get more than 12GB, although I think that is more acceptable at that price range. And I agree that DLAA is something that looks good, and AMD needs an answer for, although not that dramatically as they need to release a better version of FSR. And if you would go with the 7900 GRE nowadays and oc the VRAM you could even get as much performance as the 4070 Ti, in not RT work loads at 4K (1440p is different), at least according to the testing of Hardware Unboxed. Which is in my opinion a really bad position for the 4070 Ti to be in, in my opinion, because even then you get more VRAM. And like I said this is different if you look at RT, but the 12GB could also cause some problems with that in the future. I mean look at the 3070 vs 6800, where normally the 3070 is better in RT, but now that 8GB isn't enough any more, the 6800 is sometimes better, although I don't think we will see that big of a difference with 12GB vs 16+GB cards. And with all this I would personally not buy or recommend the 4070 Ti at a similar price, it needs either to go lower, like way lower (in my opinion $650 or less, in my opinion less). The 12GB is a no-go in my opinion in that price range. So I disagree, that the 4070 Ti is superior. Both have their reason for someone to go with. If you mainly want to use RT for a few years the 4070 Ti will be better. If you want to keep your GPU longer and want to be able to use higher texture quality, I would go with the 7900 XT without a doubt, same for a Linux system, but those aren't as common

@@cybernd6426 I do not understand how a certain price range correlates with the amount of VRAM. Only real results are important. And in reality 12GB are always enough for 1440p and usually enough for 4K, excluding some rare occasions. The situation has not really changed over a year. R&C was and still is the only game that could potentially offer playable framerate on 4070 Ti at 4K/Max RT/DLSS. Other games provide unplayable framerates long before they reach 12GB VRAM limit. Even if 4070 Ti had 24GB, it would not really change anything right now, except few rare edge cases. As concerns future, I doubt 12GB buffer suddenly becomes a big issue, at least until new gen consoles release (PS6 etc.), which definitely won't happen until 2027. And by the time 12GB is not enough for new games with RT, 4070 Ti will also lack compute power to run RT games, since they will become more demanding not only in terms of VRAM, but also in terms of raw power. HUB themselves said that Death Stranding at 4K looks better than native with DLSS set to Quality. Unfortunately they tested only a few games and no mods. So I can add that both RotTR and SotTR at 4K look better than native with DLSS Quality as well. Also 5 latest RE games also look better with (modded) DLSS Quality rather than at native 4K. So there are 8 games, that look better with DLSS. If you add DLDSR to this equation, which lets you tune rendered resolution to fit your needs, this makes Nvidia cards superior image quality wise. For example, if you have 1440p screen, you can enable DLDSR to render game at 4K and then apply DLSS Balanced preset. This way any game looks much better than at native 1440p (even with DLAA), but performs very similar (if not a bit better). Since AMD do not offer any alternative to either DLSS, DLAA or DLDSR (FSR 3.1 is yet to be released), 4070 Ti offers supperior image quality to 7900 XT. I meant that IMO 4070 Ti was and still is clearly superior to 7900 XT. The latter can definitely offer better experience at native 4K w/o RT, but it is simply not powerful enough for majority of modern AAA games to run them at 4K. So in 99% of cases those additional 8GB of VRAM do not really help this card in any meaningful way. In 5 years 7900 XT can potentially become a decent option for 1080p resolution, which will be capable to run games with highest quality textures. But who will be interested in this card then? Currently people buy 7900 XT for QHD, WQHD or UHD screens. So by the time this card becomes too weak for these resolutions, they will sell it and get more powerful card. Same thing will happen with 4070 Ti. So there is not much difference between these cards.

Dude, 4070/ti/4080 don’t have a big jump into this GPU, just 4090 . For you doing videos like your, look the whole picture , price fluctuation, different regions price, for me in Brazil the difference is R$4500 (4070s) to R$5000(4070ti) here worth pay a little extra for a little extra fps.

This is exactly where I'm at too. I have my 6700xt hooked up to my 4k TV in my living room, and while higher resolutions do look better at my viewing distance, I feel like that same viewing distance is also masking the flaws of FSR2 quite nicely in some cases. Best to wait until a bigger performance jump lets the hardware mature more around ray tracing and UE5 games.

Only in unoptimized games. 12 GB will still be fine at 1440p. In the amount of time it would take the card to no longer be viable at 12 gigs of GDDR6X, the card would probably be due for an upgrade regardless to even run the game.

In 2 years or so, it should be able to do the same or maybe lower a few setting from max to just high. This whole vram panic is overblown. If you want to play at 4K then I'd say 16 is needed. But it could be said about anything. "16 GB of RAM for 4K Triple-A games won't be enough in a couple years... you'll probably need 20" Does that mean you should not buy a 16 GB card right now? No, just enjoy the card and when it's no longer enough (probably not anytime soon) just lower a few settings because you have an older card at that point, or upgrade.

The 4070 and 4070Ti are dumb cards at any price over about $400. Always have been. Not because they're not good. They are good -- until the game asks for VRAM they don't have. At their power level, they should have been designed to use 16GB.

Depends on the games you play. It's certainly not going to be a problem for eSports players. And 12GB isn't currently a problem. But it very much could be. Usually people exaggerate about how much VRAM is needed, but 8gb did hold back the 3070 a lot.

@@yellowfuntvix1459 false. Fsr3 renders more frames. Also has the vram to utilise it more better, and at higher resolutions. There won't be a stutter fest like there would be on the 4070s. I already have videos showing the significant FPS increase of fsr3 on AMD GPU. Turn frame gen ON at resolutions higher than 1440p and the 4070/4070s/4070ti starts crying.

Instead of 1080p for graphics benchmark games (Alan Wake 2, CP2077) on mid-high end cards, can we please have 3440x1440 benchmarks? Nobody ever benchmarks that, and increasingly more people are switching to ultrawides like myself. It's more intense than 1440, but not quite 4K, but I still want to know what I need. Thank you for considering.
