Downfall of game industry. It's not about " game play " it's about graphic shits,

I'm really not sold on the idea of photorealism in games yet. The better the textures and meshes look, the more you notice how exaggerated the animations look. Also you notice how cycling the rain particles are and that they are mostly moved on a flat plane rather than using actual air flow simulation. Overall you just move the bar of disbelief to another level. But in the end you don't move a character through the virtual world you are seeing. You move an animated and rigged character via motion capture raw animation data over some planes guided by the mesh displaying the ground surface. The details are fake and if you look closer, you see that. I think comic art styles would actually benefit overcoming that problem because the viewer wouldn't look for such details in the first place. Also making it look "real" doesn't mean anything once you question the definition of reality. Consistency is way more important for immersion than the level of detail in certain areas. Additionally the level of detail in a game will never come close to reality anyway. I think it's still impressive from the technical standpoint but the more I see games like this, I question whether these are designed to be games or benchmarks. When video games started you developed games for the given hardware and architecture. These days you publish games that barely run properly on anything existing. Should games be played or should hardware be bought to look at them?

I don't think it's impressive personally, somehow I see it as "cheap" mostly because it lacks everything else.

For those having the Directx Error on Call of Duty MW3 with the 6700 xt card, try rolling back to 23.11.1 driver. That fixed the issue for me. I tried the latest and the previous drivers only the 23.11.1 driver worked and thats with OC included. Im also using a 5800x3d.

Could also kick on VRS for more frames.

got a um790 barebones brand new from amazon $430 have a 4090 hooked up via m.2 pcie 4.0 x4, loving it. It feels nearly identical to my desktop

One of the most sold gpus since release is 4060. But almost no one's posting that online cause people start to troll them for "picking a bad gpu". I've seen this behaviour on yt, reddit, discord. So those screenshots with amd upvoted gpus are hardly any proof of market numbers

In the next area where it gets sunny, my fps was HALF of the first area. It also looked much worse, could be a bug. Also, there is no letterbox on my 3440x1440 monitor.

Sure, 40 fps is "playable" dragging your character at 0.2 km/h. Horrible protagonist, graphics DEMO game nothing more it svcks, it is how it is. 2 + 2 does not equal 5.

So, good graphics, unplayable, no gameplay, basically cinematic "game", just make a movie and get it over with, horrible game. Has no POINT.

So basically 400.00 buys me a 15% performance boost so not looking good for the 4080

This game is torture. Cutscenes too long, slow pace, overly self-indulgent. Graphics are good but outside of that what's the point? It's just not any fun.

There will be a mod to take out letterbox dont worry, 5 days max, nvm theres alreaady a mod to disable it

Would the black borders be visible on a 21:9 or it will nicely scale ? I have a 21:9 and in some YT videos, the video just stay in the middle surrounded by black borders instead of scalling on all display area.

I'm not entirely sure if some of the twitchy visuals aren't intended to convey some of Senua's psychosis. I thought some of it was a VSync issue in my settings until a particularly heavy hallucination scene left me wondering if the increased visual unease was purposeful. Game looks absolutely beautiful and we'll see where things go.

I can run the game at 4k 129+-fps... Max settings. Game is not so demanding at all. And without dlss its like 109 fps +-. Still locked at 60 cuz this kind of game doesn't need 120+ fps.

Just snagged a 6750xt for 350 euros. The difference between this and the 6800, 7700, 4060 etc. Is 50-100 in ireland. Considering the local price-performance this is a good deal for me

Laptop gaming is pigeonholed by Nvidia, the rest are mostly APUs with mixed gaming results. Now these handheld PCs might flip the script a bit, but probably not enough to push the needle. I will say I know only a few people with AMD GPUs, I’ve owned both, but I only know a couple people with loyalty to a brand both are NVIDA owners. I think a lot of reasonable people will buy with their wallets in mind, considering prices keep rising.

I only played about an hour of the first game but I'm so tempted to play this just for the graphics. I do have Gamepass so I guess I can go back and finish the first game then jump into this. Great analysis as usual.

The game looks PHENOMENAL! I started it today and my jaw dropped wide open seeing what I was seeing. The only issue is there are severe FPS drops randomly. I mean it will tank from 60+ FPS to 6... anyone else experience this? It seems like a shader compilation issue.

I'll just wait until they optimize it, want to enjoy it at 1440p ultrawide native with my 4070tiS.

I don’t voice that I daily a 3070 Ti but I do voice a lot that owning a 5700xt was a HORRIBLE experience. Don’t buy AMD people, I learned my lesson.

I was able to run this game at 60fps 1080p mix between low and mid with my R5 3600, 16GB Ram at 2400mhz and an RX6600XT i cant complain that much ~ the story is great the gameplay is great and familier also some flawes of the first one where adressed. Maybe i am just fanboy-ing the game but it was great to play

someone " the 60 fps should be the bare minimum " XDDDD just lower your settings. this game looks great comparing to the other failures like remnant 2 or alan wake 2 in ghost of tsushima you don't even leave trails in the mud, grass has bad shadows, ray tracing is terrible. i play it at 4k@60 fps on my laptop gpu with all Ultra, maxed, can't get nothing more. i'd even sacrifice more for better graphics. Interactive leaves? blud. we had that in battlefield 5. i run that game at 4K90fps+ without DLSS and FG and looks better overall. One difference is low-res textures when very close. trails in mud and snow? we had that in Hidden and Dangerous 2 (a 21 years old game). compare them to RDR 2. sun and soil difference.

People look like a bunch of sheep to me if they can call this next-gen... Cryengine in 2013 in Crysis 3 was capable of the same quality of game as Unreal Engine is today... Come on guys... It doesn't mean that if the engine is advertised everywhere and not even 4090 can handle it stably, that it is next-gen... Maybe that's how the next-gen spends...
