In his three-hour presentation, which we've condensed, he talks about the importance of fitting the seismic retrofit to the home and not imposing a prescriptive design, which is all too common.

Great video! I have a one story home with basement and have added Simpson strong tie 7x9 retro plates since my sill sits on my foundation wall. My question is - What is the correct spacing for those strong tie a35 transfer ties/angle brackets? Directly above the flat plate? On either side? 2 ties for every plate? Have seen different configurations in different videos. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

This is Bay Area Retrofit in San Francisco. The two images describing the base shear formula were taken from my video www.bayarearetrofit.com/videos-seismic-retrofitting/ with very minor modifications which violates copyright laws. I really don't mind, but would you please give me credit or anything else you used of mine? I remember giving you permission to use some of my images a few years ago but I would still like credit.
