Reyna Thompson used to jog from his place to the Meadowlands for practice. This cat was ablebodied to say the least. NY had two great ST Ace, Steve Tasker being the other great one.

You forget just how amazing he was. Those hustles to knock balls back out of the endzone were amazing!
@benjaminpeters67295 жыл бұрын
Kinds weird how the rules used let you bat the ball into the field of play after it had gone into the end zone.
@Bbender6905 жыл бұрын
Its still the same rule. As long as it dont hit ground. Did you ever watch a football game?
@chriswells50611 ай бұрын
Not sure if it will ever happen, but serious consideration needs to be given to Thompson and Tasker for the Hall of Fame.

Reyna Thompson proved that no job is too small and that guts, heart, all-out hustle, total commitment, and relentless intensity make for winning football... Also, John Smith redeems the Internet every time he posts. So good.

Every team should have a special teams player like this-balls out, full throttle, just trying to make a play on every return. Sometimes it's the littlest of things that turn a game around.

This gentleman is an education not only to NFL special teams, or even baseball, but to being an imaginative international athlete. I suspect Aussie/New Zealand coaches know this all-too-better then many others around the world. These videos are also great for people like me who grew up loving the NFL; the Giants and (almost as much) the great 1980's/90's Summerall/Madden commentary.

So should half of the team. Phil Simms, Joe Morris, Carl Banks, Pepper Johnson, Stephen Baker (The Touchdown Maker), Mark Bavaro, Ottis Anderson, Howard Cross, Bart Oates, Jim Burt, Erik Howard, Perry Williams, Terry Kinard, Everson Walls, Leonard Marshall, John "Jumbo" Elliot and Mark Collins.

No way Thompson shouldn't be in the Hall.....Thompson, Tasker, Michael Bates should ALL be HOF'ers, they were the absolute best at special teams coverage, ever. Matthew Slater for the patriots, isn't far behind
@michaelbelfer10695 жыл бұрын
The best Giant special teams player? How about the greatest coverage man ever. Name one better, you can't.
@Maximus7th5 жыл бұрын
Steve Tasker was better. Not a shot at Reyna, he was also a beast, but Tasker at one point tackled Deion Sanders returning a kick-off inside the 10. Jim Kelly begged Marv Levy to please allow Tasker to play on offense and he said no. The man won Pro Bowl MVP as a Special Teams Ace and went to 7 Pro Bowls. Tasker was a beast, but a lot more people than just him have been overlooked and lost to history, which is a damn shame.

I can't believe that NFL films didn't have him in the top 10 fastest players ever. This man could keep even with a ball punted by Sean Landeta FFS!!!
